Help! I get lost very easily. Our family will be staying at the PBH. How easy is this motel to get around? I've heard that it is huge, which has me just a bit aprehensive. Am I going to spend the whole time lost and wandering? Any help is greatly appreciated, and suggestions for navigating PBH will be a lifesaver!

Good luck.

I got lost everytime I left the room. LOL.

I am very directionally challenged! Luckily when we were there, our room was up the little ramp in the lobby and for the most part straight with little zigs and zags way down the hallway, past afew "landmarks" etc... Call the front desk and see if the can give you an easy to find room.

Patty,

How funny!:jester:
I read your reply and havent stopped laughing. Partly because how true that is and mostly because after all my stays I still get lost!

Girlie Goofy,

It's really not that bad :p
Here is a website that has a pretty good detailed map of the resort. You can also call the hotel and request they send you one prior to your trip so you can study...:)

portofino map

Getting lost is mostly a "girl" thing, but thats okay cause we can multi task! LOL

Too funny!! You sound like me.........
Never mind calling the desk for an easy room to find....lets just request personal guides!:bounce:

Now I am laughing!!!!! That is the map they gave us when we checked in!!!!!!!!!! I think the problem for me was the elevators. I am used the the HRH and there is one set of elevators that get you up and down. At the PBH the elevtors bring you to different wings and if you go up the wrong one you cant cut across, you have to go back down.......

We'll see what happens at the RPR next month!!!!!!!

Good Luck.

And at least WE will stop and ask for directions!

I went over and poked around the resort a bit one day, you will definitely want a map to study and carry with you! :)

It looked really, really nice though! :)

Yes same here I am used to the easy elevators at Hard Rock, not these PBH elevators that go sideways to different wings! I can't tell you how funny this is to me. I have these visions of elevators going every which way, all just to confuse us!;)

When will you be at RPR? I cant wait to hear what you think! I want badly to return to Portofino but again I really also want to try RPR! Were going in December I need to decide!

MsDisney....Yes you are so right! I have no problem stopping for directions !! Thats a definite "guy thing"! Problem is they seem to have such a great sense of direction they don't need to do that....

We'll be wandering around the RHR trying to find our room from Oct 19 to Oct 24. I cant wait to check it out. I have to write everything down. Since I have hit the big 4-0 my mind isnt what it used to be. I will let you all know how I like it.

RPH is not an easy resort to find your way around. The best advise is to follow the signs, but sometimes that doesn't work either. When in doubt, ask an employee.

I got lost around RPH, but after 1/2 day, I found my way around. I just had to remember landmarks and drop breadcrumbs. No, I did not drop breadcrumbs. :)

Hahaha! The first time we went to Portofino we couldn't even find the entrance to the west wing, lol! Be sure to let a bell boy take your luggage to your room, they're very helpful.

If you get a chance, wander around the area to the left and behind (?) the check in desk. There are some beautiful areas back there.

I was the only one in our group who ever knew where we were going. By the time we left (after four days) I could navigate around the place pretty well. You'll get the hang of it - if you get lost, ask!!

The hotel (PBH is not a "motel") is fabulous. You will love it.
