Alright, I admit it. I can't stand to see dirty fingernails on kids. Youngest DS is 13 and it seems like every time I turn around I am telling him to cut his fingernails or clean them. Is this a normal problem? He does have Aspergers, so I don't know if it could be another thing related to that.

Mine kind of "took over" about age 8. All of a sudden, he was doing it himself. I do have to say something about every few months, but the rest of the time, he takes care of it.

I encounter lots of kids his age in school who don't take care of it, and apparently no one else does either. It's quite a hygiene issue, so if he doesn't do it and can tolerate you doing it, I'd just do it for him.
