getting into the MK parade

Hello..........I found this website the first of this month, and let me say......I LOVE IT! My family (a wonderful husband & 11 year old sweet daughter & I) are crazy about Disney! I'm so glad to see others are too! (Some of our friends just don't get it!) We are in Nashville, and go every 2 years.(If our budget would allow, we would go every 2 months!) We are going in June this summer.

I do have a question................does anyone know how to get a chance to be in a parade at the Magic Kingdom? My daugher is 11 and says she will never outgrow the magic of Disney World (she gets it honestly). I know she would absolutely LOVE to be in the parade. Is there a chance at this, and if so, how?

Don't know about getting into the parade, but just wanted to say hello! I'm in Nashville, too. And we go every two years, too! We're going again this summer, leaving 5/21 and returning 6/4. When will you be there and where are your staying?

My DD was picked once when she was 3. Cinderellas prince just walked over, took her hand, and took her out into the parade and danced with her and some other children. It was incredible. We hadnt done anything special, and my DD had eaten a mickey pop just before and her shirt was covered with chocolate, the pictures tell it all! But it was magical, i think its just luck, we have been several times since and it hasnt happened to my other girls yet.

Hello.... from Murfreesboro, Tn here!

This past December, Sunday, the 19th to be precise we were picked to be the Grand Marshalls of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade!!!
THere really is no way to plan to get picked. It is purely chance, or in my case, Divine Intervention!

We all were wearing our Christmas sweatshirts with our Grand GAthering name on the front-- Our name was in honor of my father who was killed by a drunk driver this past March.

We were in Tomorrowland having a turkey leg and a CM came over to us and said "I have a problem maybe you all can help me with. I have a float with no one on it!" Before he finished the sentence we were all jumping and screaming!

Truly magical!

The parades don't stop anymore, since an accident last year. It's a shame, but I understand their reasoning.

Some suggest that your best shot at grand marshal is being a family of four slowly walking up Main Street in the morning, and by chance meeting the CM who is in charge of choosing the marshals.

My friends were chosen for Grand Marshalls once just as they were coming in under the railroad station, they stopped to pick up a times guide and were asked there.

Like I said previously, we were all the way in Tomorrowland, around noonish, and we were picked there.

So, I guess its not always someone on Main Street. (I used to think that too).

My DH and I were Grand Marshals in January 2003 - it was purely by luck, we stopped first thing in the morning to check out the ride board at MK - talked to a Cast Member named Robin - after some small talk, she asked if we would like to be GMs that day. It was a blast!!! We rode in Uncle Walt's stagecoach!

Don't know why we were asked, except that our love for Disney was obvious after a minute or so of talking with Robin. So let your love show, and see if the magic happens!
