Getting into MK in the morning

Our last trip was not long after 9/11. We stayed offsite so we drove to the TTC. It was very frustrating because they did not let us on the monorail until 9 am when MK opened at 9 am. By the time we got to MK there was already a mob of on-site people trying to go through the turnstiles which opened at 9.

What is the sitution now. Are guests allows into MK before the stated opening time with a "rope drop" when the park officially opens, or are guests held at the gates until the park opening time.

We are staying at Shades of Green. The SOG bus takes you to TTC. I assume we would be better of walking to the POLY and riding the resort monorail to get to MK rather than wait for the express monorail to start.

With the addition of the Morning show to each park, they will not allow you "in" until the published opening time. At MK for example, the morning show starts at 8:50 (all days except Sunday and Thursday...which are resort guest early mornings). The singers and dancers come out onto the Main Street Train Station Platform and do a little show with the steam train rolling in full of characters (and of Course Mickey Mouse). You will be allowed through the turnstiles about 8:30am but only to the tunnels of the train station. They hold everyone out front by the Mickey floral until the park is officially opened by Mickey Mouse and then you can get in. The first monorail from the TTC with "day guests" is released to come over usually right as this is starting so those people will miss the morning show, arriving just as it ends and the gates are opened.

This of course does not include morning breakfast guests (with reservations) who are admitted into the park starting at 8am for their breakfasts. And then held at the entrance to each land for "rope Drop"...if they finish with breakfast early.

Thanks that helps. Do the characters stay out after the opening show?

In the past, I have noticed characters being available at the start of Main Street at opening, but we usually pass them by in our efforts to get to the attractions before the lines build.

Sorr to ask this again (I know I've seen it but can't recall where).

Where can I find the EMH for both am and pm for the parks for early January?
