Hi there!

I thought I'd give my mini-reviews on transportation during our 10 day trip, Nov 30 - Dec 9.

American Airlines: We had no problems with any of our flights, Omaha to Orlando via Dallas. Planes were full both coming and going, and they were looking for volunteers to bump on the way home...hubbie didn't want to so we skipped it this time. The flights get a little long with just a packet of snack mix and a soda being served, so plan ahead and make sure your kids are well fed, and have snacks ready. We flew on a great rate $91rt, made even better by the fact we paid for them with AA vouchers from being bumped last year. We still have enough left to take another flight someplace.

Tiffany Town Car: Excellent! Bryan was waiting for us at the escalators. He helped us get our luggage, (and one of our bags was almost the last bag that came off the plane), then went for the car. We had to wait around 10 minutes for him to come back and pick us up. Our flight arrived late, and Publix was already closed. I didn't want to go to Goodings, so he took us to the Exxon station right near the resort (We only needed water & sodas, had everything else packed). It was quick in and out, and the prices were reasonable. He said they had been running a special for 5 bottles of water for $1, but it had ended when we asked. Bummer! Only minor bump was when we went to pay and he didn't have a credit card slip so we finally agreed to pay it when he picked us up on Sunday.

We took a cab from Swan to SOG the first morning, Mears cab $16. Ouch! But it only took 10 minutes.

Disney Transportation was very good. We hopped right onto launches for Epcot and MGM and mastered the bus system to get from the Swan and the parks, and from the parks to other resorts. Never waited more than 15 - 20 minutes and usually less. We took a bus once from MGM to the Contemporary to see the Space Shuttle launch (unfortunaltely it was delayed). We had only one time we ran into trouble: we had gone over to Ft Wilderness for the campfire and the movie, and then walked back to the bus stop, but after waiting 45 minutes and watching many buses go by without stopping, we were wondering how we were going to get back...it seems they had run out of busses, and the Hoop de Hoo Review had just ended, filling all the busses before they got to our stop. A Ft Wilderness CM stopped after a while (there were about a dozen people waiting at the stop) and tried to find out what was going on with the busses. Everyone else at the stop was staying at Ft Wilderness and some decided to walk back. We decided to take the next bus that stopped no matter where it was going. Caught a Boone bus that stopped, and he took us to TTC. The driver was very nice! Next we caught a bit of Disney Magic: It was nearing 11pm now and we had just been dropped off at TTC, only to see the Downtown Disney bus pulling out as we arrived. So we walked to the stop and waited for the next one. There was one other couple and a little boy waiting too. A driver who had just parked his bus for the night, called over to us and made sure we knew that we were at the Downtown Disney stop, I replied we were headed for the Swan, and knew we could get a transfer at DD. He said, "That's gonna take you more than an hour....and he turned around and said "Come on." He unlocked his bus, and we got aboard. The other couple asked is the Swan was anyplace near their resort: All Stars. The driver said "no, but I'll take you there". He took us right to the Swan then left to take the other family to All Stars. I wish I had gotten his name. What a sweetheart!

I think we took ever sort of transportation this trip: busses, friendship launches to Epcot and MGM, the launch to Ft Wilderness, the Boone bus, the busses to the Contemporary, MK, Animal Kingdom Lodge, AK, and of course the monorail. ;-) It was all easy to use and quick to get us where we needed to go.

Always ;-)
