This is the first time we are not going from airport to WDW resort on ME. We will be coming in on a Sunday and going to the JW Marriot for my husband's conference and then Tuesday night checking into CSR. We plan to take ME to return to airport when we leave Orlando. I am just not sure about the best transportation plan prior to staying on WDW property. I would like to go to the parks on Monday and Tuesday prior to checking into CSR.

Should we rent a car at the airport to get to the Marriot and then can we return it on somewhere on Disney property? Or take a cab to the Marriot and rent a car at the Marriot, return the car at the Marriot and take a cab to CSR?:confused3:confused3:confused3

I am used to just hoping on ME and not having to think about transportation the rest of the trip. Really confused. TIA for any advice or tips you can give.

I suggest using Hotwire or bid on Priceline. The JW Marriott is quite a distance from WDW, and a cab would be much more than the daily rental rate. Unless you are eating at the Marriott or it's sister hotel the Ritz, you will need transportation. There are no restaurants within walking distance.

You can stop by Guest Relations at any theme park or DTD and pick up your park tickets early (up to three days). You would still have to pay for WDW parking, unless you leave your car at DTD (which is frowned upon).

I have used a great weekend rate from Enterprise, but that was from the Merriot on Dis area I think. They picked me up and dropped me off. From Frid to Monday morning a Sentra for $55.
Maybe the airport Enterprise, or Alamo have a weekend rate. Even if you take it back to the airport and use one of the ME passes to get to your hotel can be the ride back.

Rent from MCO upon arrival..go, have fun in the parks. On your WDW day, drive to CSR, check everyone in. Then, just one of you has to return to MCO to drop off the car...then take DME back to CSR.

This might be a dumb question, but how do you take DME a few days after your flight has landed? Don't you have to show them your DME ticket with the date on it?

As long as you are taking DME when you have an active WDW resort reservation, you're good to go.
Your reservation at CSR starts on Tuesday, so you are allowed to use DME on that day. Disney doesn't much care where you were before that. Just make your DME reservations, if they insist, give them flight info for a flight arriving about the same time you will be there, board the bus, with your bags and head to CSR. As I said, you can always drop everyone else off at CSR first then return to MCO, return the car, and then take DME back to CSR.
People do this all the time. Disney doesn't care if you arrive at MC via a plane, train, automobile or yak. You get a ride to the resort from MCO and a return ride back to MCO when you stay at a WDW owned resort.

The JW does have transport to the parks.

You will be charged for parking unless you get VERY lucky and your rate includes it (conferences generally don't) I think it's close to $20 a day so keep that in mind.

I would look into the JW transport to the parks and just take a cab to the hotel Tuesday and drop the luggage.

Will check with JW re transportation to parks, but their website only mentions transportation to Universal and Sea World.
