My wife and I have tickets to the 8/30 MNSSHP and the only flight we could get doesn’t get in till about 2:30 PM that day. We’ll have a rental car, but are trying to determine the fastest way to get to the party. Would it be faster to drive directly to MK from MCO and deal with the parking lot traffic, TTC, and Monorail, or would it be faster to drop the car off at our resort (All Star Sports) and wait to take a bus from there. I’m leaning towards stopping at the resort and taking the bus, but we’ve had some pretty hellish waits for busses before so we’re not sure which option is the safest bet for getting us there as early as possible. Thanks!

Something to consider is that Aug 30th in FL will be 'melt-your-face-off hot'. Not sure what you'll have in your luggage but I know things like makeup, food, etc would melt/spoil if left in the car for hours.

If it were me I would stop at the resort to drop luggage regardless of the decision to drive or take the bus to MNSSHP.

Yes, bus lines will be long but my experience is that they move well. Also, after the party the lines will also be long for guests trying to get to TTC. I'd rather take a bus back to the resort and be done rather than travel to TTC and still need to drive back to my resort.

Call me crazy, but get a car from the airport to your resort and pay him/her to let you drop stuff off. Hopefully you can wear part of your outfit on the plane and then accessorize/make up while he/she drives you to MNNSHP. You can get in at 4 pm.

Have an Alamo car reserved at the Orlando Alamo Car Care Center next to MK for the next morning. Arrange for them to come pick you up (free). You do pay more for the airport car, but save a night on the rental and you get to your party! Check rates for dropping off at CCC vs MCO as you may want to use the same strategy in reverse.

We are doing something to this effect in October by having a car pick us at at MCO and then drop us off for return flights at MCO. In between, we'll get a car for a few days from Alamo at the car care center. We end up just about breaking even and DH doesn't have to deal with the airport either way. Win win for us.

Go to the resort, drop off your stuff, and then pay to take a Minnie Van to the Magic Kingdom. Minnie Van takes you right to the park, so you don't have to deal with the Transportation & Ticket Center. You're probably going to be a combination of tired, excited and stressed. This is the nicest way to get to the party.

When you're done at the party, take a Disney bus back to the hotel.

Do whatever you have to do to be in the day before is my recommendation. It's going to be a horrible day if there are any issues anywhere in the system and your flight is delayed or cancelled. I don't plan anything on arrival day, and certainly would never fly in the same day for an event as expensive as a party. I view it like flying in for a cruise, be there a day early.
