Getting from MCO to Best Friends Pet Car

My family and I are taking a vacation at WDW and then going on a cruise in Sept. We are doing this during a military relocation from Hawaii to Georgia. We are arriving to the airport with our 2 small dogs who have reservations at Best Friends Pet care. We obviously can't take the ME to our resort (AKL) because of the dogs. Does anyone have any recommendations? I was thinking of putting husband in a cab with the dogs and the kids and I take the ME to our resort...but I was wondering if anyone has a better idea?

Depending on distance, your husband could drop off the dogs at the care center, return to the airport, and take a later Magical Express bus.
