Ok, all you bus/transport wizzes....here's the plan.;)

Take the bus from AKL to MGM,,,then walk across parking lot to the boats. Take the boat to Boardwalk, right at Flying Fish.

Now going back, MGM has Fantasmic at 7pm(Nov) and I'm not sure I want to be in the crush exiting that...so I thought we'd walk to Epcot(grab a dessert from the Food and Wine Festival) then walk to exit and take bus back to AKL.

How does that sound?(I really rather drive the friggin car, but DH loves Disney Transport, and does not like to drive at night. )

That sounds like a decent plan. Like you mentioned for MGM, make sure you are not exiting EPCOT after their show. Also, leave yourselves plenty of time getting there - in case you "Just missed" the boat. I thoroughly enjoy that particular boat ride. I find it very relaxing - a great intro to a relaxing dinner!

Our experience is that we have waited what seems like forever for the boat from MGM to the Boardwalk.

Why not try the bus from MGM to BW.

:bounce: or :bounce:

since you are staying at the AKL take the bus from the AKL to AK
(I am guessing that that bus route will be pretty quick and run quite often) and then transfer to the bus from AK to BW.

The old standby: transfering at Downtown Disney

I see your going in Nov. we will be at BC 11/8 to 11/14. Have a great time.

If you don't mind spending $10, try taking a taxi.
It took us a long time to get to Boardwalk from AKL.
We went to Epcot and walked to International Gateway and over to the boardwalk for our Illuminations cruise (which got rained out).
:(
It was raining so hard, we took a taxi from the front of the Yacht club. It was right there and it took us 10 mins to get back. It was well worth the price at that time of night with 2 wet tired kids.:D

If you want to do that beacuse you want to amble around enjoying the boat ride, walking through Epcot etc, then it sounds great. If time is a factor, I'd take a cab.

If a bus to AK comes first you might bus to AK then bus to Boardwalk.

You can walk to the Boardwalk from either MGM or Epcot IG. Epcot is shorter, but even the MGM walk is no more than 15-20 minutes, as I recall. It's a nice walk along the river, if the weather is not too hot. I would recommend that over the bus or a taxi. The boat ride is nice if you'd prefer not to walk.

That is what we did our first night at the AKL. We went to MGM and took the boat over (NOT slower than walking the whole way). It was a nice ride. We love the Flying Fish. The dinner was great and than we headed back to MGM.

Just a note--although the distance from Epcot's International Gateway entrance is fairly short, the Epcot busses drop and pick up at the front entrance (Future World). It's quite a hike from Flying Fish to the Epcot busses, but if you aren't in a hurry, and want to peak in the shops along the way, AND IF YOU HAVE AN AP OR LENGTH OF STAY TICKET OR HAVE ALREADY USED YOUR PARKHOPPER THAT DAY, it could be fun.
