Getting fit for DisCon...

Here's a DIS exercise program:

1.) Run up and down the stairs in front of your library.
2.) Lift four 12 oz. cans of corn.
3.) Jump over 5 bones from turkey legs.
4.) Lift 5 refillable mugs (filled with your favorite sports drink).
5.) Run in S-curves and imagine that you are in a queue line.
6.) Wander around the mall parking lot to get ready to find your lost car in the WDW parking lot.
7.) Dodge bikes in your neighborhood to prepare for a walk around the Boardwalk.

Add 1 can of corn, 1 bone, and 1 mug per week.

:)

Boy, you are all such amazing inspiration! I actually only gained back 1/2 pound on the Labor Day weekend. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself! But, now, I have to be extra careful. We're leaving for Chicago tomorrow morning and won't be home until Sunday. That means all those meals will be eaten at restaurants! I am hoping the hotel will have an accessible treadmill. I can put that to good use. Keep up the great work, everyone! You are all a great source of motivation for me!! :D :D

LOL Barry. :D

And 'here, here Gerri!" Like you said, even if we don't lose a single pound (which we know is almost impossible if we walk each day  ) we will definitely feel better about ourselves and will be healthier because of it! :) :) :)

Keep going everyone! Move-Move-Move......Work It! That's it! Keep going.......... :bounce:

Now, if I can just stick to jumping over those cans of corn instead of eating them.....LOL!
Love your exercise program, Barry! DH has been going out walking all summer. He finally got me to join him about 2 wks ago. I figured I'd better if I expect to keep up with the ThrillRides Tour! So far I'm going just over a mile, but I'm trying to go a little farther and at a faster pace each time out. So far my legs really hurt while I'm walking but I do feel really good afterwards. I hope I can stay motivated to do keep walking, especialy as the weather gets colder. I'm counting on you DISers to help keep me going.

That's how I feel Nancy.....my little toes were falling asleep on my last night, but I figure I just need to loosen the toe strap of my sandals and I'll be okay. But boy did I feel good when I was done!

When Bandie and I do our walking, he always walks about 10 times the speed of light. He has an unfair advantage. He's got a couple more legs than I do. So I'll either be in good shape for doing the parks or be on crutches. :D

LOL Steve. :D

I only walked a half hour tonight :( But this time I wore my running shoes and my little toes on my left foot got sore/tingly/cramped/etc. so I came home. :(

I'll wear my sandals tomorrow night and walk 'til the cows come home......or for about an hour. ;)

Tia: Are you wearing sandals to do your walking? It is usually easier on your feet to wear a good pair of sneakers with socks. Anyway, if them shoes hurt your feet... I liked that "till the cows come home'....I will try to use it here, in Portuguese and see how people react. :D
Nancy: good job! Among us, fellows "athletic commandos" there will be motivation to last till DisCon, at least.

Weather didn't hold out here in Oklahoma. We got some much needed rain, BUT, My DH and I went to our Super Sized grocery store, bought groceries, unloaded them and put them all away without the help of our kids. That HAS to account for some kind of exercise!! :)
Gerri

Hi Livia.

I wore sandals the first night and my gym/walking shoes tonight......I find my sandals more comfortable, but I know that my gym/walking shoes give me more support. I think I just need to loosen both pairs! I have BIG Hawaiian feet.....LOL :D

At WDW I wear my Echo sandals.......I swear by them! They let your feet breathe all day.....therefore allowing for more comfort....IMHO. ;)

My mom and my DH wore sandals to Disneyland this Spring and they couldn't believe how much MORE COMFORTABLE they were!!! :) :) :)

But I think I better stick my gym/walking shoes for my 'work out' :D :D :D

Hey wait for me!!!!

I need to drop another 30 lbs. I have already lost 25, but it is not at all noticeble, goes to show how big I was...lol....I need to start doing some excersizing, so that the weight can drop off a little faster. I hope to have lost 15 of those 30 by the time DIS con comes around....

Go Glo! Go!
My goal is also to lose those nasty 15 extra pounds I gained last year, just after divorce!!
I have walked 45 minutes today at the threadmill and lifted weights! It takes a while to get used to the routine.

OK....I have PROMISED myself every day for the last week that I was starting my diet the next day. Well...Tomorrow is really going to be that day:) I bought a swim suit on clearance and can not possibly wear it unless I drop 20lbs before DIS-con...my other suit is WAY too big now so I am forced to either gain or lose weight. My self-esteem could not stand to gain more weight.

It certainly doesn't help that my SO has no problems in this area what so ever. He is 5'11'' weighs 168lbs and wears a sz 32-33 waist pant....the SAME freaking size for the past 20 years!! He eats what ever he wants...never works out...just natuarally trim! Somedays I just want to smack him:) :) :):) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Jump on the wagon Robin..........Come along glo...........we're all headed to healthier bodies.......and if that means that we drop some lb's along the way..........AWESOME!!! :bounce:

Keep going girls and guys! :bounce: I want all of us to be healthy and as happy as can be! :)

well you can always do a powerwalk around the lagoon at the CB each morning or evening. But you might want to save your energy for the parks.

I myself will probably do the walk from the WLV to Fort Wilderness and back. a couple of times during the trip. However I will still be straining the springs on the scale. :D

I did my 1/2 mile walk twice today :) Once w/ my DH and then again w/ my girls.

The last walk was out of pure necessity though!! I knew that if I didn't, I'd end up sore tomorrow. (The rain had the parking lot wet and I fell out and to the ground from our 4 wheel drive 3/4 ton pick up. I didn't hurt myself and was SOOOO glad that no one but my DH seen me, but I figure I'll be sore enough in the morning.
Gerri

Gerri, you are doing great! I am glad you didn't injure yourself in that fall.

Glad you're okay Gerri. Geepers!

I hope I have time to walk tonight......going to dinner at a neighbor's house and then I have to go and buy DD a birthday card.....tomorrow is her b-day and I don't even have a card for her...let alone a gift!!! :(

Gotta walk no matter what! Right? Right! :D :D :D

yes, this self-talk does wonders for me! ;) LOL

Did my mile today, then went to the Lowes SUPER Huge Warehouse w/ DH and walked around there for about two hours. I woke up a bit sore, but I'm fine. Thanks.

Gerri

I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself Fostrmom2mny!!

You are all doing so well, bravo!! Keep up the good work!

I am suffering from a serious lack of motivation. In fact, just reading about all the walking you're doing makes me feel like I need a nap! ;)
