Getting desperate....Santa needs to find

Oh, if anyone can help, Santa is getting pretty desperate to find a Barbie Townhouse. It is DD(7) 's only Christmas wish.

I have 5 kids and they each get one gift from Santa, and since they do not get items/toys often throughout the year Santa tries really hard to fufill their wishes.

DH has been unemployed for most of the year. I recently got a job and things are slowly looking up. My delay in shopping was that I had to wait until payday. I was suppose to get paid Friday.....posting automatically in checking account to show available Friday morning. That didn't happen, however it did hard post to my checking account over the weekend so now the money is available to do my Christmas shopping.

Has anyone seen the Barbie Townhouse? The only place I have seen it is on Craigslist, a larger city away and for $250

Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know it is not the Barbie house, but I have heard wonderful things about the imaginarium brand fashion doll house at TRU. It is wooden and will hold up to lots of play. The Barbie ones are simply flimsy pink plastic junk. Maybe get the TRU one and have Santa leave a note that the elves found this one to be built better.

If this is it, the Toys R Us website has it priced at $139.99 - but is marked out of stock. You could try calling Toys R Us stores to see if they carry it, but I imagine you already have.

I didn't see anything else posted on the web (etoys.com, mattel.com, fao Schwarz, everything is out of stock). Only options I found were ebay for $250 and up.

I think your best bet is trying to call any surrounding Toys R Us. I was in mine last night and they had two on the shelf.

The girls do have a shared doll house(KidKraft?) that they use for Only Hearts Dolls. DD also plays Littlest PetShops, Disney figures and even Polly Pockets in the dollhouse/ The dollhouse goes back & forth from room to room.

Almost all the barbies/clothing/cars we have are hand-me-downs. Older DD, now 11, was not really into Barbies, but little DD(7) plays with Barbies daily. Not having too many things of her own I beleive that is why she is asking Santa for this. Again, it being the #1 on Santa wish list.

I have called all the stores around within 1 hr drive. The closest TRU is almost 30 mins away on highway. Living in the boonies. We did get a Target 2yrs ago, you'd think we are a thriving metropolis now. LOL!

A man in our local Target was asking for one they told him that they have already discontinued it. I was shocked that it being so new and this near to Christmas they would do that. Our local Walmart had a few this pastweekend so you might want to try their website ( if you havent already). I would also check with amazon and ebay. This might be an item that she will have to get for her birthday. I'm so sorry taht you are having such a hard time getting one, I know how hard it is to want something for your child and not be able to find it.

I saw that you are having trouble finding the doll house for your daughter. Could you possibly substitute a different type of doll house, like a Disney one? We gave our DD the Cinderella's castle doll house from the parks earlier in the year and she just LOVED it!! You can order it online now at the disney website, or call the merchandise department. If you pay extra for express shipping, you may get it in time for Christmas. Also, at only $75, it will save you money even if shipping is very high!

I would go through the yellow pages and call anyone who might sell toys. It always amazes me at all the little mom and pop type stores and specialty shops we have ni the area. Maybe you will get lucky and find one in an out of the way place!

Last weekend our local Walmart was releasing a few houses at a time throughout the weekend.
So, try Walmart.
