Getting crayon out (OT)

What's the best way to get crayon out of a polo shirt? Will it come out with regular washing or is there another method that's better?

Thanks Tinkmom - I didn't think of going to the site! The site said to try laundry detergent so I did and it seems to have worked. We have washable crayons & markers at home, but were at a restaurant when DD wrote on her shirt. For some reason, I wasn't sure regular detergent would work.

Also, white vinegar and water, rubbed over the crayon with a toothbrush works very well.

We used a generic "shout" type product and it took the crayon out of dd5's khaki skirt. Somehow she managed to color the entire skirt during one church service instead of the tablet she had on her lap.

With any strain be sure NOT to use hot water or put the garment in the dryer until you are satified that the stain is gone.

The heat will set the stain and could make it permanent.
