Well I've recommitted to getting in shape - I have jioned the November exercise challenge and so far so good:thumbsup2

I have done Atkins, South Beach, WW, 11 day diet/idiot proof diet and most every diet in between. All work for a while then:confused3

I either lose interest in the plan of the moment or start just to slowly slip back to bad habits.

But I think i finally figured it out for me that is - I am now not dieting

I now live by 3 simple rules

1. EXERCISE DAILY!
2. DRINK ENOUGH WATER
3. EAT BETTER

I guess the 1st 2 are universal to losing weight - but all foods we eat have healthier alternatives and now I read labels - check for BAD ingredients like Partially hydrogenated anything - buy only whole grain pastas and breads, check the fat and fiber content of foods and sodium content - I think HEALTHY not Diet foods - If in 1 year I lose the weight I have taken off in 1/2 that time - but this time keep it off - well thats my goal -

I truly don't care how slow i lose weight - i just want to have healthy eating habits when i finally get there:thumbsup2

Thanks for listening

Hi Sue,

I can so relate to your post! I could have written it myself. I have done every plan there is known to man and have had great success on some of them. I came to the same conclusion you have that "diets" just don't work. I guess I was looking for some diet that would would work magic for me. Great, long-term results with little effort on my part. No such animal exists!

I finally decided the weight watchers points system makes the most sense for me at this time in my life. I have to be accountable for what I put in my mouth. I know part of my 50 pound weight gain is due to eating whatever I want in mass quantities. :) I finally figured out the "secret" to weight loss success. You have to do it the old fashioned way: eat less, exercise more and drinks lots of water - oh and get enough sleep at night! Ha! It sounds like you have a winning formula for success and I wish you all the best!!

Please keep us updated with your progress.

I am so happy that you are getting connected this time around. It sounds like you've got a positive approach and you will make it happen!

I think that by keeping away from that "D" word and having yourself understand that you are making good choices for you that this will equal a healthier happier you!

Keep at it! You are doing it!

:cool1: :cheer2: :yay: :woohoo:
