Getting around at FW Cabins?

I thought I saw somewhere that vehicle use is limited at FW. We're considering staying at the cabins, but I can't imagine taking a bus to the Outpost to get another bus to Epcot. I'm assuming that If we have a car, we can use that to go to the parks everyday?

What does everyone else do?

Would you do it without a car?

Yes, you can drive your car "in" and "out" of the campground. What you can't do is drive your car up to the Settlement/Marina area and go to the restaurant or Trading Post, etc. There is no car parking except at the front parking lot or your individual cabin/campsite.

Many folks rent a golf cart or bring their own bicycles to go around the campground.

Many folks use internal transportation to get to the Marina, then take the boat to the Magic Kingdom, but then drive to the other parks.

Thanks!

That's kind of what I thought. I can see taking the boat to the MK, since both options are 2 modes of transportation. Bus to Marina and then Boat to MK or Car to TTC (don't forget the parking lot tram) then either boat or monorail to MK.

We're so used to just hopping on a bus, boat or monorail and then next stop is the park we're going to. I'm wondering if I will be frustrated by all the transfers.

I think we'll definately rent a car if we go this route, I can't see spending $45/day for a golf cart, when the car would more than likely be the same if not cheaper and give us so many more options.

Oh, the decisions:confused3

FW internal buses are really not as bad as some people think. The buses run on very regular loops and make FW a very easy resort to get around for everyone. Because car traffic is limited walking and bike ridding are great. FW seems large but if you consider that it is only 1 mile from Outpost to the marina, the walk from the cabins to outpost should be only 5/10 min if you don't want to wait for a bus. The buses just mean you don't have to walk to the main bus areas if you don't want to, unlike at hotels(think south wing of CR to its bus stops with tired kids).

I can vouch for how efficient those FW internal buses are: we never waited longer than 5 minutes for one in February.
