Getting a walk-up at LeCellier...and saying no thanks.

It doesn't matter how nice the restaurant is, if you have two hungry kids 25 minutes can be forever! The other guests should probably be happy they left too if that was the case.

Maybe things are finally starting to turn around.

You would think that the parents would have gone right to a CS place, rather then a TS where #1 usually ADR is needed and #2 you still wait not only to be seated but for your food to be cooked/brought out.

In "the real world", a 25 minute wait for lunch is a long time. WDW isn't "the real world." Like others have said, some people don't do research, and have no idea how long the waits can be (or total unavailability) for certain WDW restaurants.

Actually, even in the real world a 25 minute wait for lunch at noon on mothers day is not bad at all. If you go to any of the steak places around here it will be at least that if not more.

But as we have read here many times, some people don't think at all when they plan a WDW vacation.

The family may not have known how popular/hyped up* this place is. They may have looked at the menu and thought there is nothing here my kids will eat or it was too expensive.

For our trip last week I planned everything including where we may eat. I did not include any in park TS at all because, one, my one son eats a very limited selection of food and two its very expensive.

All last week my family would pass a menu board and ask why don't we eat here? I would say TS and then they would look at the menu and just keep walking. After a few days they caught on and it became a game.

We stopped in front of Fulton's and son one saw $40.50 for Surf and turf for two people and said thats not too bad, son two pointed out that was for one person.

* trying to be neutral here. :)

and just maybe they changed their minds! Irregardless of LC's popularity, maybe the kids were tired, maybe they decided they weren't that hungy, or maybe the earth shifted and the stars aligned in the cosmos and they then wanted Mexican instead of steak!

I really enjoy LC but it's still just food!

I'd say they made the right choice. 25 minutes IS too long to wait for an overpriced, bland yet overly salty meal served by a lackluster wait staff. :rotfl:

But seriously, a 25 minute wait for TS without a reservation is nothing at WDW, especially a place that is constantly filled like LC. Obviously their first time and maybe some unrealistic expecations of what it takes to get a table. I'll bet they tried 3 other TS places in WS with longer waits than that and ended up getting a crummy burger at the Electric Umbrella.

I have had the best waiter in any Disney restaurant there. Too bad you didn't. Although, I believe the kids that come and work from other countries can only stay for one year, so if you have a waiter/waitress one time, chances are that you won't have them when you go back.
