Getting a Vizio Co-Star, but don't have a cable box

Hi all. We cut the cord with the cable company over a year ago. We're getting a Vizio Co-Star to run Google TV on our TV, but we don't have a cable box anymore. Can anyone tell me what functionality I'll lose by not having a cable box? Anything THAT important?
