Getting a villa/condo on arrival

If we were to book a flydrive how feasible would it be to book a villa on arrival and what would be the best way to go about doing it please ?
We are thinking of going around the begining of September and quite fancy the Windsor hills complex.

I would strongly advise on booking before you go, I am not sure how you would go about doing so when you arrive.

I don't see any advantages in waiting till you get out there.

Not sure how you would go about this as to be allowed entry on the visa waiver you need to provide the address of where you are staying for the first night in Florida. Same goes for the first night address for the API which is requried before the airline will actually allow you on the plane.

Agree with Johnny, why wait? I would want to try research the villa/condo in advance. I have booked a condo for the 1st time at Windsor Hills for Easter, after looking at about 50 propreties I have hopefully picked one that suits our needs.
Might be easier to book hotel rooms than Villas/condos on arrival but even hotels I would book in advance to get the best rates and know where I was going.
You also have to have your 1st night arranged for immigrations Visa waiver condition. (edit, sorry Claire posted while I was typing)

Another few sites to check out are www.ownersdirect.co.uk and www.homeaway.com.

Like the other posters, I suggest you book something before you go as most villas/condos are owned by people outside of Orlando/Florida and it would be extremely difficult to find something on arrival.

Hi Alex.... You would be better seeking a property before you go as if you want to get one out there you would have to find a managment company and book one through them which will work out more expensive as they will put a handling fee on your booking. I travel out a lot and have dealings with several managment companies and can give you contact info should it help.
As far as API and imigration are concerned you can book a motel room and put a motel name down on your green card info then cancel the room on arival.

The thing to think about is do you really want to be spending your first few hours traveling around trying to find somewhere or would you rather just go straight to where you are staying ?
