Getting a hotel on Priceline or Hotwire

I'm just worried that I could get a hotel that doesn't have a shuttle to Disneyland.

At a resort we frequent, we recently found out that when you rent through these discount online places, you get the worst rooms. I'm sure that's not true everywhere, but after what we saw I will NEVER book through Orbit, Priceline, Hotwire, Travelosity, or any of them.

I've only ever used priceline to get my hotel in Disneyland. ~5 times now. Every hotel that I've won has had a shuttle, and I never had any problems with the shuttle. I've always bid 3.5 or 4 star hotels. And I've always had a perfectly adequate room, and until I went during spring break this past year, never paid more than $65 for a room.

We used Priceline for our upcoming trip in December and I bid for a 3.5/4 star hotel at 65.00 a night and got Anaheim Marriott Suites. It's a mile from Disneyland and they do have a shuttle. I'm very happy with what we got.

me neither....OP when you book on priceline just make sure you put at least a 3.5 star and for Disneyland NORTH....all those hotels are along Harbor and the hotels for them are typically Hilton and Red Lion, Hyatt, and sometimes Crowne Plaza

I have heard a lot of people happy over their Hotwire hotel purchases for DL. My understanding is that if you put in specific perimeters, you're pretty much guaranteed a nice hotel that has shuttle service. I would use it if we didn't love Motel6 so much.

We used Priceline for a DL stay once and we got the Hyatt Regency for $40 a night!! Not the worst room by far and was a fabulous stay!

Sorry to go off topic a little, but it's so relieving to hear you love Motel 6 so much. We are booked there the end of this month and I was a little skeptical about it.

We've done Priceline twice in 2010 and both times we got:

I'm almost positive they had a shuttle, though we drove so we didn't use it. The rooms were nice, and we didn't have any problems getting a room with 2 beds (name your price you are only guaranteed 1 bed). The staff also didn't treat us any differently, which I've heard some do when you use sites like Priceline. I don't think I'm allowed to post the link, but if you google Priceline bidding the first forum that should show up has helped me immensely for knowing how and what to bid. As well as info on what you can get in different categories. I've used it for trips to San Diego and in CO as well.

We've had really good luck with Priceline, but we only use it when we don't need specific accommodations. If transportation is going to make it or break it for you, you'd probably be better off not using Priceline.

Sorry to go off topic a little, but it's so relieving to hear you love Motel 6 so much. We are booked there the end of this month and I was a little skeptical about it.

I stayed there in July and really liked it. It's clean, the staff are friendly and the pool and hot tub are clean and nice and warm.

My two suggestions would be take your own pillows and an extra blanket (there was only one blanket and the pillows weren't great) and don't rely on the coffee they do in the mornings - I brought my own coffee maker, much better

But it's clean, it's cheap, and you're going to be in Disneyland!

I've used Priceline and Hotwire many times for Disneyland area. All hotels have had their own shuttles or are on the ART bus route to Disneyland. I believe all of the major hotels (3*-4*) in the Disneyland North or Disneyland South Priceline or Hotwire areas have shuttles or use ART.

Priceline only guarantees a room for 2 people. Its possible to get a king room rather than two queens. However, being near Disneyland king rooms are few and far between. I've not once gotten a room with only 1 bed in the Disneyland area.

Hotwire guarantees a room for up to 4 people. Generally you can beat the Hotwire price using Priceline but Hotwire does have some very good deals.

Use betterbidding or biddingfortravel websites. Both will list hotels that people have gotten on Hotwire or Priceline and the price paid. Using these sites will give a pretty good idea of which hotel you would get by comparing amenities. If using Priceline you'll get an idea of how much to bid.

My advice book a hotel that you can live with and can cancel. Then go to hotwire or priceline to bid. I haven't used HotWire yet but I like that it tells you what you are bidding on (3*, free parking, free internet, microwave, breakfast, etc).

And keep in mind a lot of the hotels do charge parking (up to $20). So adjust your bid accordingly.
