getting a frig for medical reasons

I have two medications (not insulin although I have insulin too)(smile), that need refrigeration. And while it is very, very nice of Disney when they choose not to charge for a fridge, I would never expect it of them or even ask them not to charge me any more than I would expect there to be a free fridge in the room when I stay at a Motel 6. Because of this, we purchased a small refrigerator unit that plugs into the cigarette lighter in our car and has an adaptor for the hotel room.

I really can't praise this type of unit highly enough, as it is quite small, reasonably quiet and it means that I never have to worry about having a fridge in the hotel room. Ours was on clearance at Kohl's and goes with us on almost all of our trips (except Mexico but we always rent a place with a fridge included).

Hi all!

I was at Disney in January with my mom and we were given a refrig for free. My mom has diabetes and her insulin needs to be refrigerated. When I made the reservations I told them I would need a refrig and I told them the reason. They advised me to show the insulin when I arrived in order to prove the need. When we arrived at the All Star Movies hotel my mom showed her insulin and by the time we got to our room we have refrig waiting. I am sorry to hear that some people have abused this in the past, but I believe that if you can prove your medical need then Disney will, in fact, provide a small refrig for free.
