Getting a decent offer for Nov/Dec..

So when the new brochure was released and I saw that they have a 'buy 2 nights get 2 nights free' deal, I thought that sounded good. But my MIL, who we're planning to go away with, emailed me last night to say she assumed we'd only be going for 2 nights and had felt a bit 'thrown' when I said it was 4.. but that FIL has reminded her that she's always wanted to go and that he'll be fine without her (aww). But I would much rather she was excited and having fun than worried and missing FIL, so I've suggested that we wait and see what comes up deal wise for a 2 or possibly 3 night stay. So, if anyone's been away at the very end of November and got a fab deal, can you remember what the deal was and when you were able to book? Can we assume that a 30% off or similar deal will come soon after the BOGOF one ends on 20th Aug? Googling suggests that there was a flash sale at the end of October last year, but I'm a bit of a planner and as I want to go away on Thu 29th or Fri 30th Nov ideally I don't want to risk leaving it too late..

Also, I know there's a 'get 1 night and 1 day free' deal on, but that isn't quite as good as 30% of a 3 night 4 day stay.. is it?!

unless the likes of Voyage Privee come out with a flash sale, you're unlikely to get a 30% off offer on a stay of 2 nights. Its usually for 3 or 4 nights that those deals come out. one night free on a 3-night stay works out at roughly 30% off.

OK, so we might be better off just booking now then. It's just a bit of a pain when I know we could get an extra day and night for free (although the food costs would be more, obviously).

Go for the 4 nights!

The '2 nights get 2 nights free' deal is a great offer, as obviously equates to 50% off for the 4 nights.

We're definitely going to take advantage of this offer for Christmas.

I would love to, but I don't think the MIL is too keen to go away for that long, and I have been feeling guilty about taking the kids out of school for 3 days for something that I can't really argue is educational ;) Hopefully she'll reply and say we may as well go for the 4 nights if it'll be the same price as 3..

If your MIL does come back and say it's ok i would definitely suggest you book on the current offer, we just have and got a fantastic deal, 4 nights, 5 days at the SL, 25th-29th November for £1,316, that's for 6 adults and 2 children sharing 2 rooms, if it had just been DH, myself and our boys our room was only around £515.

We also went at the same time of year in 2009, we waited for an offer and paid just shy of £700 for 4 nights at The Cheyenne, only a 30% offer was on i think.

I really hope you can get something organised that is good for you all :)

OK, she's come back to me and said she'd rather go for less time :( It's a shame but from the time off work and school POV it probably is the most sensible. I'm trying for a compromise on 3 nights! If she agrees to that, would you advise that I book now on the 'pay for 2 nights get 1 free' deal, or hold out? I'd probably wait til July/Aug to book anyway because I haven't saved up enough yet and my credit card won't thank me if I'm impatient ;)

Similar predicament here!

We have booked our flights and are fixed to going for 3 nights, same time as you!

I definitely did not want to take the girls out of school (they will need an afternoon off and that is it as it's teacher training long weekend - it is Christmas crafts that week so not an issue at all as they will only miss last afternoon of it). So, although the 4 nights offer is fab, it's a no go for us sadly.

I can't decide what to do either. I'm fairly sure Nikki (Tennisfan) got a 50% off offer for that time of year but not sure if that was last year and when she booked?

As we go on our first trip next weekend I am going to wait until I come back and see what happens then. Apparently the current offer is on until around 28th June (or 30th?) so I would think (but no guarantee) that there will be a flash sale early July. Of course, there is no guarantee it will cover our dates OR be for 3 nights!

It's so difficult to know what to do - every penny counts and is money towards our spending/meals!

I remembered that you're in the same boat DLPDreams! :) I have no problem with taking mine out of school for a couple of days to be honest, but I try not to take the mickey (:rotfl2:) ;) We haven't booked transport or anything so I guess another option would be to say to MIL that we'll book a 3 or 4 night package and she can catch the train over a day or two in if she's adamant that 2 days is her limit. But I do think it'd be a bit of a struggle to fit everything in to a 2 night trip, especially as it's her first ever visit and there'll be extra Christmas stuff to do!
I thought the current offer was on til Aug 20th but I have NO idea where I got that from..
I REALLY hope Dreams is still on when we go!

Oh yes, I agree 2 nights is way too short especially at that time of year when there is more on. I too would suggest she comes after you if she doesn't want to do the 3 or 4 nights.

Actually I am now wondering about the current offer ending. I was initially told mid August too but then someone else on here said 28th June and I've seen 30th June on here today :confused3. I have just looked myself and can't see an end date.

I did think August was a looong offer so I think end June sounds more realistic, but really not sure.

I am hoping that it is end June so that hopefully something else comes up or another Country has a good/different offer that suits us better - Ireland or France.

As for Dreams, it has been confirmed it is on every night for the full anniversary year which doesn't end until 11th April 2013. After then who knows. But it is definitely on in Nov/Dec - not sure of timings though!

The section in the brochure (downloadable one) is still advertising the Dreams show in the Christmas designated section, so i do think it will be :thumbsup2

I think suggesting your MIL comes along a day or 2 after you is a very good idea, there's so much extra stuff going on at this time of year i find 4 nights a perfect amount of time to get everything done without rushing around :goodvibes

Well it's all sorted and we're going for the 3 night/4 day package :) We'll see what comes up for our dates before the end of the Summer!

Great news re Dreams! Someone on here said that it might only be showing on Saturdays by the Winter, can't remember who now, which would be a shame. I emailed DLP to ask them about it and they replied saying they didn't know yet & to check back in a few months.

When did you email Disney re Dreams? I ask because someone on here (and another forum) emailed them to ask and they were told "Dreams will be on every day during the 20th Year Celebrations" - that is effectively until mid April 2013 :confused3.

Honestly, I wish the CMs would give out consistent information :lmao:.

Great news about deciding on a trip length - 3 nights is a good compromise. I think at that time of year 3 nights will be enough for my family as it will be cold (but not freezing I hope!) and also we are having 6 days there next week so it's really a short trip just to soak up the Christmas atmosphere .

Lucky you going twice this year! :)
I emailed them about 2-3 weeks ago I guess? First I had a reply to say they couldn't answer my question and to ring them, then about a week ago they sent another email to say that they didn't know!

How odd? :confused3

Well, as another person says, it is definitely advertised in the Winter brochure so on every night for at least that season :).

We went in November last year and I think we booked up on the 30% off hotel & travel deal. This saved us £120 on our flights too which was a bonus :thumbsup2
