Hi all

We are staying at AOA next month. I am visually impaired and will be on my own for 1 day while my family is off doing some things. While I am very familiar with WDW and can usually get around myself, I'm uncomfortable taking the busses without my DH or DD's. If I was to venture off on my own can I get a CM at the resort to get me a cab and if so do I just go to the check in area? I know it seems like a silly question to ask, but we usually stay at a deluxe where I just go to the valet desk and they get me a cab.

There are cab stands at every hotel and park. One thing you will have no trouble getting is a cab. :)

I agree, you shouldn't have a problem but personally I always feel better calling Mears and ordering one specifically.

The only time we had a problem was at the Grand Floridian during a rain storm last year--people kept stealing our cabs!

you can always try the premium outlets. i am planning to go there my first day. last year i took a bus to downtown disney then got a cab from there. from there to the huge discount mall was $8. too bad i was really feeling sick that day....got some stuff at the disney store then whent back. seems like a big mall though

just call the front desk and they will connect you to the cab desk. I call from my room and tell them who I am, that I will be right down, where I am going and the cab is usually waiting for me with the door open. I tip the cab stand guy a couple dollars for timeliness. And then I'm off :drive:
