I just have to tell you how impressed I am with this company.

A few weeks ago I ordered 8 day hoppers for our upcoming trip. First off, the 8 day hoppers are hard to find, so I am thankful that they sell them.

Then unexpectedly we received 4 lanyards and Buzz Lightyear pins last week...I didn't even know we were going to get those!

Today I called to get breakfast vouchers for Goofy's Kitchen. For some stupid reason I thought I could get a better deal by using my AAA card, well I was wrong. Price at the door is $37.19, and AAA would get me 10% off. Which would be $33.47. GetawayToday's price is $26.50. A much better deal.

So, I called since we are leaving on Sunday. The gal was so very nice and helpful. I placed my order and it was a breeze. The looked me up in the computer, they still have my credit card on file, and she just added our 4 breakfast tickets.

Then...she verified my name on my credit card and the reason she did this is because you have to have the same name on the card as what your reservation is under, otherwise they won't give you your tickets. I go by my nickname not my official name...so the name they had my reservation under was different than my credit card. So she changed it to match my credit card. I'm sure that saved me 10 minutes or more at the ticket booth!

They have wonderful customer service. She even offered the Disney Dining phone number (even though I already have that covered).

I wouldn't hesitate to call them again.

good to know! i'll keep them in mind for our trip next may (i'm hoping to celebrate dd's 3rd birthday at DL). have a great trip next week! :)

Do they charge a $10 fee for your order? I read there used to be a code "podcast", I think... that would remove the $10 fee but I'm not sure if that still works. Were you able to use that code? I'm hoping to use them for my trip.

If you call and mention "podcast" they will waive the fee. But, if you order online the fee will appear.

She waived it totally without me even asking this time. I am assuming because they waived it last time as well.

I typically hate calling...I would rather order it on line. But, I really enjoyed my experience on the phone.

I second how great GAT is. We have used them 3 times before and they are really helpful. I have done online and phone ordering. Wow, they really answer all of my questions. And always ask to make sure I don't have any more!!

This is great to know, especially about the discounted character meals. I'd heard good things about this company but hadn't tried them before, I think I will use them for my next trip.

I only wished that they got their 2009 prices earlier as I wanted to try them for my January trip, but they told me won't have their packages until late Sept to early Oct, and I was worried about my preferred room choice so just went ahead and booked already (AAA booking components seperatly instead of a pckage)

How do you collect the dining vouchers from GAT? Do they ship them, or do you pick them up somewhere?

Getaway really needs to update the web site with correct prices for the character meals.
It lists GATE PRICEs which are actually quite a bit less than the total you would pay at the door.

You pick them up at the Ticket Booths outside of Disneyland. I was told all I have to do is present my credit card I charged both our PH's and the dining vouchers and they will give me both.

Which is two less things to remember to pack!

Can you just buy the meal vouchers without purchasing anything else? I'm on their website now, but I can't see where I can order meal vouchers...It's probably right in front me. SO HELP PLEASE....how do I do order?

I bought my tickets there yesterday and they aren't waiving the $10 fee anymore for 'PODCAST'. They said the word was spreading too fast and people who didn't even listen to the podcast were using it :rolleyes1 It's only $10 per order though, so for mine that was totally worth it (18 tickets, plus lanyards and pins and two magic mornings!) I'm really excited now :cool1:

On the menu bar it says "vacations" - hover on this and a drop down appears. click on the one that says "tickets"

That will open up the ticket info. At the top you can select Disneyland Resort and then ticket type - change ticket type from attraction to dining and you are there!

Well thank you so much, I found it! I didn't know dining was an option! Learn something new everyday from this board!:goodvibes

Here are the GAT "deals" listed on their website:

Disney's Character Breakfast
(adult) $28.49 (child) $17.34 - Regular
(adult) $26.50 (child) $16.50 - Discount

Ariel's Disney Princess Celebration Character Lunch/Dinner
(adult) $28.49 (child) $19.81 - Regular
(adult) $26.50 (child) $18.50 - Discount

Disney's Character Dinner Buffet at Goofy's Kitchen
(adult) $37.16 (child) $17.34 - Regular
(adult) $35.00 (child) $16.50 - Discount

I don't see what the deal is - at only about a 5% to 7.5% discount at max, not including their $10 booking fee.

What am I missing? :confused3 I seem to be better off with my 10% DVC discount - and charging a meal to credit card isn't inconvenient. However, picking up vouchers for meals IS inconvenient.

What you're missing was in my post.

$31 is "at the door" for an adult's dinner at Goofy's Kitchen (according to AllEars as of March 2008) . . . which is a far cry from $37 (as GAT lists the regular price). This does not make sense.

So ... what am I missing?

I have heard wonderful things about GAT and will likely try them sometime in the future.

Just wanted to clarify something about AAA. There are 2 ways to get a discount; if you use your card "at the door," you will get 10% off the door price. But if you pre-order meal vouchers, you pay the following:

Breakfast: $25.60/adult, $14.45/child
Lunch/Dinner at Ariel's Grotto: $25.60/adult, $17.80/child

Can be used at Goofy's for brunch/dinner, Lilo & Stitch breakfast, Chip 'n Dale's Critter Breakfast, Minnie & Friends breakfast, and Ariel's princess lunch or dinner. I am not sure what the cost is for Goofy's dinner, as I am guessing it is more than the brunch price given. They mention dinner at Goofy's but it is unclear how it is priced.

The vouchers can save you quite a bit. They include tax and tip. I did not have to order mine with a AAA package, I just called my local AAA office and the agent ordered them for us, and they send them to your home. However, I think the process may be different depending on where you live. I know you can get them if you order hoppers through AAA (which used to save you $5 per person, but it looks like they may be the same as GAT and Disney now).

OK, I was also wondering how big of a discount GAT would really be for Goofy's dinner, since their pricing isn't accurate. SO I just called to make my PS and got pricing. For those of you interested:

Dinner is currently:
$44 for adults/summer pricing (through Aug 24th)
$19 for kids/summer pricing

$39.64 adult/off season pricing after Aug 24th
$17.34 for kids/off season pricing

I hadn't previously known there was a difference in pricing for summer season vs off season... Hope that helps!

Brianna
