"Getaway Rate"...includes January

I had seen on another board someone talking about a "Getaway Rate" via the DL website. So, I cruised on over to the DL website and plugged in my January dates and there it was....hotel only reservation and it was $50 per night less than my AP discounted room (at GC).

So I got on the horn this morning and got my rate adjusted. Saved over $500 for my 7 night trip!!! This isn't being advertised anywhere that I have seen...... but it is available.

I fooled around with the DLH rates and it came to about $179 per night, GC was $245 per night. I did not price PP.

It is still not as good as the special rates that came out last year but fairly close!

Edited: Just priced PP for our dates and it was $165 per night.

I think its a new spring getaway. A CM said it wasn't supposed to be released until Monday. It's Jan-April.

I just got off the phone with them! I was quoted at $653 for two nights at PP in March with my AP discount, but the getaway rate is only $428!!! I called the CM line again and they said "Oh, well yeah, you'll get a much better deal with that rate".

Awesome, now if the AP discount drops below that do you just have to call them and they will adjust it to the lower rate?

Yes, just plug in dates. The offer has yet to be announced.

Yes you can easily change a hotel only rate.

Too book online or over the phone now... Its our Anniversary and I have been told that I should advise them of that. I dont see anywhere to do it online though.

Of course if it hasn't officially been released they wont be able to book it over the phone so it looks like I will go with online!

Update: Just booked GCH online for our Anniversary in January @ 245.00 a night

I found this deal on Sunday night and booked at the GC for two nights in Feb. 2010. I was elated to be getting it for $245 a night! Then I got a confirmation saying that the rates until Dec. 31, 2009 were guaranteed but 2010 rates hadn't come out yet and the only thing that was guaranteed was room availability. So I thought that was a bit sketchy that I could book it but they weren't going to honor it just yet. But if some of you have talked to CMs and found that the rates will be good from Jan - April...then they must be good?!?!?!

I already received my confirmation email after adjusting my rate this morning. The CM confirmed if the AP rate or a different lower rate came out between now and Jan. I could call and readjust the rate again.

Every single confirmation I have had in the last 10 trips has said the same thing. To date, I have yet to have DL not honor the rate on my confirmation sheet. Let's hope it does not start now!

Thats good to know. When I read it I figured that its there for legal purposes so they have the ability to do it if there was ever a legitimate need to. It definitely doesn't sound like "the Disney Way" to do something like that without a really good reason...

That and the fact that you changed your rate to take advantage of this rate and they did it for you is an indicator that everything will work out just fine!

The new Winter Backstage Pass (AP newsletter) is showing they will have AP rates starting at $139 (PPH) from Jan 4/5- Feb 11. The website hasn't updated them yet, but here's to hoping for it to be done Monday!!

Will do. I will be calling this weekend to see if things change before Monday. I have GC at $245 a night right now. Last year I paid $221 a night so it would be nice to get it down there again!
