Get to MGM early if you go this week

Last season of Osborne lights + Star Wars events = MGM is crazy crowded at night. I knew this is the last Christmas for the lights but didn't realize the huge number of people who would show up for them. We got there early and it was already wall to wall people and was almost unbearable. I found out that they were closing the parking lots early in the evening on Wednesday and a castmember said that was unheard of for MGM.

If you're going this week another option is to wait until just before the park closes - we were editing our fastpasses on our MGM day this week and the CM told us that a little known secret is that the lights stay on for 30 minutes after the park closes.

1) It is now, at least for CM's.
2) The phrase now means "Major Crowd Mayhem".

There's a Brit I follow on Instagram and he's never been to DHS when it was MGM, but he calls it MGM that just to fit in with the longer term park goers!

DW had been to WDW when DHS was MGM. She always calls it MGM. I always have to do a double take...

Old habits, I guess. On a side note, a local mart changed hands and changed name. I (as do many others) still refer it as the old name.

I agree. Much like my DW who always calls it MGM, (I was never at WDW when it was "MGM"), I will probably always call it Downtown Disney.
