I'm leaving in 6 days!! :cool1:

Please look over my plans for our first Disney trip (traveling w/ DH 33 wheelchair user, DS 8, DD 7, DD 7, DS 3 and me 31 with way more than I can chew!)

Sat Aug 20: Arrival day. Check in to FW cabin. Watch electric lights water parade from FW beach

Sun Aug 21: Animal Kingdom at open, afternoon break, chip n dale campfire at FW (if kids feel up to it).

Mon Aug 22: MGM early, afternoon break, back to MGM for Fantasmic

Tues Aug 23: Magic Kingdom at open, afternoon break, dinner at LTT at 4:30 then decide if we are up to staying for wishes or head back to cabin.

Wed Aug 24: Sleep in a little! Head to Epcot WS for open at 11:00, explore countries, break, Hoop-n-Holler (I know it's hoop de doo, it just really irritates my husband when I say Hoop-n-Holler) :teeth:

Thurs Aug 25: Back to Magic Kingdom to see missed must-do's and possible repeats. Have AR in Epcot at Marrakesh at 6:30 (EMH night :earseek: ) I debating on whether to just eat and run or try to catch illuminations. I'm fearful of thick crowds as we have 4 kids and since DH is in a wheelchair, I am the only one who can chase them should they decide to wander away.
DH jokes about putting them all on leashes and tieing them to his chair so they can pull him around like a pack of dogs. :rotfl:

Fri Aug 26: Epcot future world. Another delimna here. DH really wants to ride Soarin and I think with my help he will be able to get on. One problem. DS 3 is 39 1/2 inches tall (with his shoes on) and Soarin's minimum is 40. I definately don't want to endager my son but I don't know how I can help DH on the ride if they won't let DS on.

Sat Aug 27: Downtown Disney, Fly home that night. This raises *surprise* yet another question. Check out time is at 11 a.m. and our flight doesn't leave until 7 p.m. What are we supposed to do with our luggage in between?

Thanks for any suggestions!! :flower:

Magical Express (if you have signed up) will handle your luggage, just leave your luggage at the resort. Even if you don't use Magical Express you can leave your bags with the folks at the Main Desk, they will tag it and stick in storage somwehere nearby.

Your itinerary looks fine, I find that it is good to have a rough plan for the morning at the parks. So you know what ride to head for first and what fast pass to pull on the way so, you have two attractions knocked out immediately and are heading onto the third by the time all the folks who walked into the park and stared at a map for 15 minutes even have their butts in gear.

As for MGM, you may not need to leave (and I am big on leaving in the afternoon for the other parks). If you do a sit down lunch and see a show, its time for Stars and Cars Parade and dinner, they make you have dinner so early for fantasmic. I'm sure others will disagree but, that has been my experience. Hitch: we were there in OCT. not AUG.

For Soarin' you will need to do the parent swap, CM's will help you.

Have a great trip!

Amyality,
Thanks for the advice. Will they actually let me enter the ride area and help DH onto the ride and then exit with DS? I thought to do parent swap you had to wait outside.

Let me BUMP you for more responses............................

Do you know that there is a special area for handicapped people at Epcot to view ILLumnations. It is over by where the stand that sells McDonals Fries just past Canada. Also at MK there is special area for handicapped in front of and to the side of the Xmas shop to see the parade.
