Get Excited: Downtown Disney Has Now Reopened Superthread!

@disneychrista I'm with you on that. I've walked out of places where the space is too small for the amount of people inside.

I haven't been back to Marceline's in a while because of the lines. The upside of those lines, though, is that they keep the number of people inside low. I did feel comfortable the one time I waited it out to get in.

Mini Review of my trip today:

This was my first time going on a Saturday since opening weekend. I got to DTD around 9:35. Had no problems going into the parking lot or the health screening. I headed straight to WOD. The line was in the opposite direction from the last time I was there. The entrance is now at the old exit by La Brea Bakery. The line curves up towards the tram area. I got in the line and waited maybe 10 minutes? The store inside wasn't crowded..at least to me. Halloween merch is out all over! It's spread out throughout the store so that helps with people bunching up while looking for things. I noticed that a few of the mask prints were restocked in adult sizes.

When I left WOD I went to Marcelines. They were already using a virtual return system. This was my first time having to use a virtual return. That was a 30 minute wait. Next I put my name down for the Dress Shop return. That also was about a 30 minute wait. I put my name down for the Home Store, but it seemed to take a while, so I decided to have the CM take my name off the list, because I was going to leave. 2.5 hours a later I still got a text saying it was my time at the Home Store. Glad I didn't wait lol. I also visited Sugar Boo & Co. and Starbucks.

This was definitely the most crowded I've seen DTD, but you can still social distance pretty well, so I felt fine. I didn't have a problem finding a spot in the shade to drink my Starbucks while I waited for my return time. I think in the future, I will stick with weekdays after work though. Less people, and no virtual lines (although @theluckyrabbit reported last week they had a virtual line when Halloween stuff was released on a weekday). I actually wasn't planning on going today, but I woke up early and decided to go. When i was heading out towards the 5, I saw the long line of traffic trying to get in. I'm not sure if parking was closed off or not, but I'm glad I was able to get there early and not deal with that.
Thank you for the detailed report -- cute haul! (I'm eyeing that pillow, too!) Glad you had an Abby sighting -- definitely send in that comment! Agree that the virtual queues help keep the crowds in the stores way down. As long as you have a cool, socially distanced way to pass the wait time, it usually isn't bad at all.

One more thing.

The CM in the dress shop said they do take returns and exchanges with a 30 day limit. She also said what people have done is buy an item, try it on in the bathroom across the way, then if it doesn’t fit, come back and return/exchange. The fitting rooms right now are closed.

I assume this is the same policy for other stores except for the masks.

Can I just say GROSS!!!

The only things not returnable I believe are masks and some of the artwork in wonderground gallery.

Lol I wash all my new clothing items before wearing once I get home for that reason. You never know who had it before. Same with clothing items I buy online :)
Oh me too. But still so gross. If I were the store managers I wouldn't be happy that my clerks were telling customers this (or even possibly suggesting it).

My daughter and I went on Thursday around 1:30 for her traditional “first day of school” visit (with pictures), and it was pretty empty. No virtual queues for anything.

We bought a shirt that turned out to be the wrong size, so I sent my husband to exchange it on Friday at the same time... he had to use the virtual queue for WOD and waited over an hour for his return time. So, the days are quite different.

ETA to add that the CMs went NUTS celebrating her (I had a blank “I’m celebrating” pin that I used), anyway, it was super sweet and they’re trying so hard to make magic and I wish I would have noted names to commend them.

Great photos! Congratulations to your DD on her first day of second grade!

Has anyone been to Ralph Brennan's? I was looking at menus this morning and I noticed that the steaks are all gone from the menu. I'm still hopeful for our December trip and we'll be dining there. They still have my husband's favorite dish but not mine. I know a ton of restaurants around us limited their menus so I won't be too surprised if they did as well.

I haven't dined there, only pick up. But I do think they have a shorter menu at the moment.

Thanks. And darn it! My favorite meal is not there. I mean I'll find something else to eat so my husband can have his jambalaya but strange they took off all the steaks.

Downtown Disney is a tad busy 😬 The major stores are using the virtual lines. I put my name down for WOD but I probably won’t wait. I mainly came down for food. The line to get in looks longer than it was.
