I was thinking about saving a little money and buying 6 day park hoppers through Get Away Today. I have heard of them through this site so I think they are legit. Has anyone purchased tickets recently? Do you get a voucher that you take to the ticket booth? Is it a smooth transaction? Do they charge any fees for tickets only? Are they upgradeable to an AP? Any info would be great. Thanks

I'm surprised you haven't go an answer. People do use them, you get a voucher and change it for a real ticket. Not sure about fees

You can upgrade it to an AP. You just pay the difference in what you paid for the ticket and the cost of the AP.

We have used them many times in the past. They have great customer service, too. We have booked trips with them and upgraded to an AP.
We have bought a single ticket through them 1 time also. We picked it up at the ticket booth.

We love getawaytoday. One of the things we love most about them is that they are a local company (for us). Really, though.....even if they weren't, we'd use them in a heartbeat. Very honest. Very thorough. Excellent customer service.

We haven't ever bought park tickets only so I don't know for sure but I assumer you receive a voucher. We always purchase a package. We always stay on-site. We simply check into our hotel and are given our park hoppers right along with everything else. Not staying on site, I would assume you'd get vouchers to trade at the gate.

I just purchased an airport transfer voucher through them, and am getting ready to purchase my Parkhoppers as well. From the generic instructions emailed on the order confirmation for the airport transfer: "If you have purchased Disneyland Resort Park Hopper tickets and/or Character Dining tickets, your tickets are set up electronically. Please proceed to any of the main entrance ticket booths to pick up tickets. You will need to show a valid picture I.D. to pick up your tickets. If you are a guest of one of the Disneyland Resort Hotels (Disney's Grand California Hotel & Spa, Disneyland Hotel or Paradise Pier Hotel) you may pick up your tickets at the front desk at the time of check in." Sounds like it should be an easy process.

No extra fees. Yes, the tickets should be upgradable to an AP. However, you will only get credit for the price that you paid for the ticket, so you in essence lose your discount when you do the upgrade. If you know for certain that you will be doing the upgrade, I would just go ahead and buy from the Disneyland website and use the e-ticket option. You will be able to print your voucher and take it straight to the turnstile, saving yourself the extra step of going to the ticket booth.

I have used getawaytoday.com many times in the past. Yes, they are vouchers that you take to the ticket booth, show your ID and then they give you the actual tickets. It's an easy process, and I've never had any problems. I don't think there's a handling fee for ticket only orders.

The handling fee is applicable to hotel bookings. I was hit with their $20 handling fee when I recently booked my hotel only package thru their website. However, I only paid $360 for 4 nights at Sheraton Garden Grove, so paying that extra $20 didn't really seem so bad.

Always look for a coupon code for Getaway. Last year we avoided that 20 dollar handling fee when we bought a package.

I must concur that getawaytoday has excellent customer service. We had to cancel our tickets (due to unforeseen illness) and they were great, even dealt well with my indecisiveness and issued a gift certificate instead (after I'd rescheduled and realized that the dates wouldn't work). The same person I'd worked with in the first place called me back, too. It was just really, really good customer service.

Have used them twice for tickets. Didn't receive a "voucher." We just had to go to the ticket booths (not the turnstiles) and present ID and our tickets were in the system. They send a receipt in the mail, so maybe that's what people think is the voucher. You could get your tickets without this receipt. We DID receive a voucher for the hotel that we were required to present at time of check-in.

And I totally agree about great customer service!

We just used gataway today, two weeks ago, We just went to the ticket booth, showed ID and said we had ordered tickets thru getaway today. We got our park hoppers without any difficulty. No problems at all!!:cool1:

Getaway today vacations is the best!! We have used it like a dozen times and we have never had any issues at all. Theprices are great and include all the hidden taxes u wouldhave to payat the hotels on their own. One time when we went to get our tix at the booth because u do not get vouchers, they couldnt find our hopper passes but as soon as we said we got them through getaway the cm said that getaway is the company thry deal with the most and he handled getting out tix within 3 min..thats how good they are, and u can even make payments if u dont have all the $$ right now..love them!!!!

If I buy my park hoppers through Getawaytoday, and I am staying at the GCH, can I get my tickets from the GCH desk, or do I still have to go to the ticket booths?

This isn't very up-to-date information, but we did this at the Paradise Pier Hotel in December 2006. We used Get Away Today for both hotel and tickets and got our tickets at the desk. We were then able to upgrade to APs right there even. We just had to go get our pictures taken in the park since it was our first time.

I've used them once before and they worked fine. I did have a minor hitch, if you will, though. I took my voucher to the booth and it took the CM about 30 minutes to get us our tickets. He kept looking at my voucher and then back to his computer screen like something wasnt right, then he went and got a manager and she looked at it, and another 10 minutes later and they finally gave us the tickets. I never figured out what happened, but it scared me when I was standing there. I thought something was wrong and they weren't going to give us the tickets. But they did.

Get Away Today is certainly cheaper than buying them directly from Disney, and I'll be using them again fopr my next trip. I just hope everything goes smoothly and I don't have to stand there for another half hour to get my tickets.

Any reason why they got rid of the 8-Day Park Hopper passes?

can someone explain how this works for Character Dining? Do I have to pay Get Away Today first, then call Disney Dining for reservations? What would happen if I can't get a reservation on the day I wanted if I already bought the tickets?

lastminutetravel . com has prices literally just a couple more dollars than getawaytoday's prices and I do not believe they are vouchers.
