Germany Restaurant

We like Beirgarten. It is a good value. The buffet is very good and large. The entertainment is cute and a little cheeszy, its a polka band and the guys are wearind leiterhozen (spelling, I know!). Nobody ever wants to get up and dance so, I go up with my boys (they will be 4 and 7 this time we go) and before long there is a big lalapaluza of kids on the dance floor having a ball and it is really funny. My husband is a beer drinker and he loves the beer sampler. I really enjoy the desert coffees. They are very good (a small wonder in WDW...the coffe stinks almost everywere). My brother in law was drooling over our waitress last year, she was very cute. I think Beirgarten is one of the best kept secrets in EPCOT. On a scale of one to ten, one being horrible and 10 being ultimate. I'd give it a 5.5 or 6. Its a fun place with good food, good beer and nice service.

I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I liked Biergarten. I ate there last year with a friend for the Candlelight Processional dining package, and I honestly chose it because it was in the least expensive tier and is close to the American Gardens Theatre. I'm a vegetarian and I don't care for heavy foods, so I was not expecting to find much to eat there. Boy, was I wrong. There was a great selection of salads (both hot and cold), breads and desserts that I could choose from, and nothing I tried was too heavy.

The theming is nice, and as Amyality said, the entertainment is really cute.

One thing that puts people off is the fact that you are seated at a common table with other guests - around 10 people per table. I was a little nervous about that, but it turned out fine. My friend and I were seated with a family of six on one side and a couple on the other. The family was very talkative and outgoing, and we had great conversation and laughs during the meal. The couple was quiet and their body language made it clear they just wanted to talk to each other, and that was just fine too. It wasn't awkward at all; we just didn't talk with them, and we were all fine with it.

Oh yes, forgot to mention the shared seating. The first time we ate at Beirgarten we did not get seated with anyone (we were a party of 4). The second time we were seated at Beirgarten (there were 6 of us) and they later seated 2 ladies at the end of the table who were really funny. We chatted a bit with them at first but, mainly the two groups just went on to behave as if our tables were next to one another not connected. The family seating really did not seem to detract or add to the experience in my opinion. Sounds like a similar experience to kaycee's.

My Dh and I ate here on our honeymoon trip in 1998. It was a cute and fun place to eat. We are not adventurous when eatting new foods, but a family member said it was good. The food was good, place was clean and best part we sat with others at our table and enjoyed meeting people from all around the world. All in all - it a positive experience. We would do it again, but now we have a DD5 that is an extremely picky eater. So we have to save it for a solo trip. Enjoy! :flower:

We like it. We're two people and were seated with five others. A couple of women, a very standoffish couple who didn't even talk to each other, and a single guy. The standoffish couple left after 15 minutes (thank goodness) and then the rest of us had such a great time. We didn't know them, they didn't know us but it turned out we had so many things in common (the ladies were from Philly which is close to where I grew up and the single guy was in the Air Force and my husband was there for 12 years). Excellent time.

Second time, I took the whole family for our anniversary. Eight of us. So we had our own table. And *very* picky eaters and a 6-1/2 year old girl. It probably ranks right up there with the best meal I've ever had a Disney World. The picky eaters rolled out of there, the little girl danced her life away with the band and ate a ton.

Humm.... leaving next Friday for Labor Day weekend. Maybe have to look at getting in there? Humm......
