Germany in August

Hey! My friend and I are going on our first ABD trip in August to Germany!! Any advice/tips from past travelers??? Also, is there a way to connect with folks traveling on the same trip as us? Thanks ))

Hi, Faithhopelove972! And welcome to the DISBoards and the ABD Forum. We have several people who post here who have done the Germany trip, so I'm sure they'll be by to give you suggestions!

The dates we are going is August 15-23 of this year -- so awesome there is a roll call!

Oh that's good to know, thanks! We booked a later flight on our last day. We are flying to Copenhagen. I was feeling a little bummed we couldn't get an earlier flight but now I am glad we will get that extra time in Munich..what were some things that you felt rushed at? Did you get to go back on your own and see them ?

You really just have time for check in , short walking tour , and dinner. The second day you go visit Neuschwanstein castle south of Munich (takes all day but is awesome) , then farewell dinner.

Took this trip last July - wonderful experience! Not enough time in Munich at all. We wished we had added an extra day at the end of the trip instead of in the beginning. But, it was good to have a day in Heidelberg to get settled. Rothenberg was so quaint. Really tremendous trip!

Hi - We're going to be on the August 8-16 trip (so just a week ahead of you).

We're spending 2 pre-days in Berlin and another 2 in Munich, before heading to Heidelberg.

In Munich, we're going to do a BMW plant tour, a tour of the Allianz Arena (my husband is a huge soccer fan), maybe check out Schloss Nymphenberg, Residenz Museum....and of course, lots of beer gardens! We'll also take a short private tour of Munich of things that ABD may not cover.
