I realize now I need to make an excuse for my Bosses/Family/Friends why I won't be around for a couple of weeks next month. I figured telling them I was going to WDW or GayDays would ultimately be grounds for early dismissal. So instead I would like your idea on what a good excuse would be.

Currently my GENUINE Disney Excuse is: I just won a complimentary holiday at Harrah's Casino in Tunica, Mississippi ! It's all inclusive with a free cruise! My bags are packed! (and my inflatable raft too).

So what's your excuse this year? :wizard:

The people who I work with already think I'm weird, so adding in my Disney obsession really didn't make them bat an eye. :lmao:

Me: I am taking May 22 to June 7th off
Boss: OK

Voila that was literally the extent of my conversation. :lmao:

Aren't you entitled to vacation? What you do with it is your own business. Everyone I work with knows I'm going to GayDays at WDW. One of my nurse practitioners is equally Disney-mad, but she's not going this year at all, so she keeps bugging me for details - I think everyone else on that unit is ready to kill us both.

my boss is counting down with me till we go!

I just don't mention the gay days part of it with some people. The first time I went I was solo (not a parent yet.) and so I got asked by quite a few 'why disney' I would reply, why not? or explain that I am meeting friends there.

unless you plan on calling in sick  for those days, you can reveal that it is Disney, so long as you don't mind the non-disney fans thinking you're a little strange.

Hay, that solo trip was officially for my 21st birthday (and it just happens to be near gay days. :thumbsup2 ), so I was truly thought strange! Little did they know that DTD had clubs back then. (Adventurers club, how I will never EVER forget you!)

I'm going with my best friend. He is a gay male. I am a straight female.

My excuse. My daughter's Disney College Program is ending and I'm going to get her. My original plan was to not see her at all until my friend offered to take some of her stuff home when she moves out. UGH!

Just tell him you are going on vacation. If he asks say you are going to Disney World. I think most people don't even know what Gay Days is and when it takes place.
If for some reason your boss knows about Gay Days be shocked and tell him you can't change your reservation within 45 days of arrival.
End of Story.

Now I'm really feeling bad about this. My friend is so committed to gay days. I was so annoyed last year when he couldn't come to my 50th birthday or my daughter's graduation because he couldn't afford it. Yet, he went to gay days and stayed at the Wilderness Lodge. Hmmm

Now we're using one of his precious days to move my daughter. :sad2:
