Genius idea for puzzle packaging or defeats the purpose?

My wife bought a box with 16 puzzles. 4 500 piece, 8 300 piece, and 4 100 piece, it was the only one at that store that had beach scenes.

I opened up one of the 100 piece puzzles and put it together rather quickly, it was so refreshing compared to how long the 1000 piece puzzle took to assemble over the Christmas holiday.

I believe that 1000 piece puzzles should be packaged like Lego sets, in multiple bags. Package it in 10 100 piece bags. Assemble each bag and then connect the 10 pieces together.

You get the satisfaction of assembling a large puzzle with none of the aggravation!

Here I thought you were going to instead suggest that all the pieces of the sixteen puzzles be combined together. Imagine having to solve that!

That's a good idea- it wouldn't mess up anything, because people who wanted the extra challenge could easily just dump out all the bags. Also, if you are someone who prefers to work alone, you could take a bag and then give your spouse a bag and they wouldn't be stealing all your pieces.

My kids used to do that - take a couple of the smaller (300-500 piece) puzzles and dump them on the table, mix them up, and then do the 2-3 puzzles simultaneously.

Already exists (just different quantity of puzzle pieces than your example)



There's other patterns available and other quantities but I believe Ravensburger is the main company to make these types where it's more like individual puzzles that connect together to form one large puzzle. I do believe they are packaged individually in terms of each scene.

Part of the fun from puzzles is you pick what works best for you. 100 piece puzzles were great when I was a young kid and while I still have many of those puzzles due to sentimental value I haven't put them together in years. They are too easy for me and I don't purchase new ones. 750 is too easy most times but I do have those (including a few Disney ones) and then a decent amount of 1,000 piece ones. But most I have purchased these days are 1,500-2,000 pieces. Currently I'm working on a Disney one that's 1,500 pieces. I like challenges and don't get as much satisfaction of completing a puzzle too quickly. But again that's the beauty of puzzles, you pick what works best for you. Some people really love smaller puzzles like 500 and under. It's whatever works

Yeah, if you aren’t up to the challenge of a 1000 piece puzzle, just stick to one with fewer pieces.

10 4032 piece puzzles. A much grander scale. Just need to scale it down.
