Not to sound like a cheapskate but....has anyone tried the Wal Mart version of Crocs? Are they similar? We are a family of 6 so $20 or more per person really isn't an option for us.

I'd much rather spend the money Wal Mart is charging for theirs than the amount charged for real Crocs. However, I don't want to buy the WM version only to find out they are not comparable and then have to buy real ones anyway. Especially for an 11 day vacation.

Can anyone do a comparison on the two?

Thanks in advance.

My daughter has a pair (actually from last spring) from Limited Too...they aren't real crocs...but they are just like them...they are still in great condition and she has worn them a bunch of times. I don't know if the Wal-Mart version is the same, but these are "fakes", and are great!

I buy them for my youngest to play in the backyard. I also bought the Family Dollar or Dollar General brand called dawgs for my ds. They don't compare at all imho. The material is much stiffer and doesn't have the "give" factor that Crocs have. Also they rubbed blisters if the kids wore them for long periods. My oldest had a pair of Crocs for almost 3 years that I finally had to hide. The more you wear Crocs, the better they fit to YOUR foot. They soften and mold to your foot.

THAT being said.... Check Marshalls, we found the Crocs brand POTC last year and girls often. Today ours had the men's Collegiate flip flops. (Or TJMAXX as they're owned by the same people)

Also check out the AirWalk brand at Payless Shoes. I find these comparable to the Crocs and with BOGO it's not a bad deal

I love my Crocs :cloud9: but when money is tight Payless has a great substitute, the Airwalk Compel's as MN_Girl mentioned. They are almost as comfortable as the Crocs.

Right now Payless is having their Buy One Get One 1/2 Off sale.

I agree too. I have a few pair of crocs, and I still keep my Airwalk ones from Payless. They survived 2 separate trips to Disney, 2 years apart!

I love the Wal-Mart Crocs. I call them "mock crocs". They have changed the design a bit over the past year and I'm not as fond of them but I still find them very comfortable. They actually fit me better than the real Crocs.

Comparing the two I have found that the bottoms of the "mock crocs" tend to wear out a little sooner - but that's after a lot of walking!

I think you'll be happy with your purchase if you decide to buy the Wal-Mart brand.

First I tried the Walmart version of Crocs. I disliked them. In fact, they were so bad I wore them for a few minutes a couple of times then gave them away.
A year or so later I tried real Crocs. I really like them - in fact I've bought another pair so I have two different colors. IMHO there is no comparision between Walmarts brand and the real ones. (I've never tried Payless Crocs)

I wear the fake crocs from payless - I also have a real pair and frankly I like them both and can't really see much differance. My kids also wear the payless version as well.

I had a few pair of Payless Crocs and loved them. They are almost like the real Crocs.
I have never tried the Walmart brand because the rubber is so stiff I can't see them being comfortable.
When do you need your Crocs? If they are for your vacation in August you can go to the Croc outlet once you get near WDW and buy them really cheap.
they have the Disney Crocs for $9.99 each and most crocs are very low prices with BOGO 1/2 off.
The outlet is right near WDW, at the Premier Outlet. Take the exit from DTD (hotel Blvd) and take a right. Get into the left lane and after you go under I-4 take a left (look for Mary Queen of the Universe signs).
The outlet is right past Mary Queen of the Universe.

I bought the Sears brand of Crocs and they were fine. They have worn out a bit on the bottom after 2yrs and a DL trip.

I also have lots of pairs of Gekkos brand. Liquidation World has them for $2.99 so I stocked up.

I haven't tried a real pair of Crocs so I can't compare but the ones I have have been very comfortable. I have taken both kinds on trips to DL and WDW.

DD had fake ones (not sure if they were from walmart or another similiar store). The "button" where the strap attaches rubbed and gave her sore spots. This occured whether the strap was in the front or back. We ended up removing the entire strap and that worked. A few months later she was given a real pair of crocs and did not have any problems with them at all.

No they are not similar. Try finishline.com they had quite a few crocs for under $15.

We have been a lover of crocs for a few years now, my 7 year old wears them all the time. the difference is the Crocs form to your feet and have Anti bacterial in them so your feet do not sweat and the shoe does not become smelly. Another problem that some people reported in our area with the Fakes was they were causing burns on the bottom of chilodrens feet. This was an the news here in Az last summer, maybe you can google to see the post>

Do check out Finishline.com in the clearance section. They have crocs for everyone, in lots of styles right now for $4.98:cool1: :cool1: BARGAIN!!

If there is nothing that you can find there, try the croc web site, they also have great sales.

If you decide on Crocs you will be hooked, they are sooo comfy, its all we wear to Disney, We do Dl 6-8 times per year and WDW 2x:yay:
good luck

Personally I don't skimp on shoes. You have to stand no matter what you do so you need to be comfortable. With that, you can get crocs on sale so cheap. I got most of ours for under $20. The Frocs or Cracs are just as expnsive. I have tried on other ones and they are stiff and definetly not as comfortable as real Crocs. Check for sales all over the internet.

finishline had them on clearance this week. I have heard on the DIS that the finishline.com was not selling anymore, but that some have been lucky calling local finishline stores (or going there)

But, I've found them at Marshalls also very cheap. I just bought DS his pair at the croc outlet online (Mickey ones) for $15 and with the free shipping code it worked nicely...just like buying in the store.

The free shipping code is FALL08LOOKBOOK

Good Luck!

There is no comparison. Real crocs are wonderful on the feet. Try to catch a deal on the real thing.
