I'm wondering if any of you veteran cruisers (especially Magic cruisers) can help me recall something. On the Magic, they have a game they play that's like the Newlywed game, but with a kid and his/her parent (I don't recall what they called it). I'm looking for anyone who can remember one or two (or all) of the questions they asked. I'm looking to add this to the entertainment I'm putting together for our church retreat this weekend, and can't seem to recall any of the questions. For that matter, if anyone has any good ideas of questions I could ask, feel free to share!!

Thank you!!

We were on the Magic last week and I believe I recall the game being called "The Generation Gap". I did not attend, but the description in the Navigator was something like....kids...see how much you really know about your parents...or something like that.

I hope this is the game you were referring to. If you want I can check my Navigators and tell you what night it was played. Just let me know.

Yeah, that's it ..... Generation Gap.... does anyone recall any of the questions??

May I suggest you start another thread with the name of the game in the name of the thread so people in the know will be attracted to it.

I didn't do the game, but thinking about the type of question you would want, here are some that could be asked of the kid:

When your parent was a teenager, what would he/she have used to type a letter? Typewriter

Thinking of old-fashioned vinyl records, what did "LP" stand for?
Long playing (other related questions could be what were the records made from - vinyl; what two speeds did they play - 33 and 45 RPM; what does RPM stand for - rotations per minute)

I'll think about this some more..

We went to this game a couple of weeks ago. Here are some of the questions they asked the children:
What is your mom's (or dad's whoever was playing with them) middle name?
Who is their favorite/least favorite relative?
What is their favortie song?
What book are you currently reading?
That is all I can think of right now, I will see if my sister can remember any others!

Not sure if you're looking for info on that game only but I know there was a similar board game out at Christmas called "Kids vs. Grownups". Sort of like trivial pursuit but with different sets of questions for the kids and the adults.

My kids received that game for Christmas and it really is fun (the more players, the better). The actual "board" portion is sort of dumb, and can be played without. The kids answer questions from "the baby boomer era", and the grownups answer questions from the "now" generation, in addition to educational things that you may or may not remember!

Might be worth investing in for your situation. It looks like it's made from one of the educational game makers, and would probably be available in like a "Zany-Brainy" or similar.
