General Room Request Question

We are getting ready for a week stay at OKW (on a cash reservation). This is our first time at a DVC resort. In past trips (to non-DVC resorts) I've always put in a fax for our room request and had excellent luck doing so, as we typically got what we considered our "perfect" room. I I just recently read a thread informing me that DVC resorts do not accept fax requests, so I had a few quick questions.

First, is this correct, no faxed requests to DVC resorts?
2. I assume calling then is the next best option (as online check-in requests are general in nature) - how far in advance should I place this call?
C. How successful have those of you who put in a request at a DVC resort (specifically on a cash reservation) been in getting what you wanted?

It is correct that the DVC Resorts do not accept faxed room requests. So yes, your best bet it to call. You can call anytime from the day you book up until 4-5 days prior to your arrival. When you call to add them makes no difference in your chances of getting your requests granted.

Whether you get your request is 100% dependent on occupancy and how many others requested the same as you. So others success rates don't have any bearing as their situation was different.

Correct, DVC resorts do not accept faxes. You just need to add your request to your reservation. You cannot call the resort directly. So call Disney, not DVC and not the resort, to add your request to the reservation.
