General questions about the park reservation system

My wife is not sure if she can go to EPCOT with the rest of the family tomorrow.

I am reluctant to cancel her Park Pass reservation until we are sure.

She made the reservation using a 4 day pass. What happens if it is not cancelled prior to the reservation date?

Does she still lose that day from her 4 day pass?

Does Disney penalize her in some other way?

I checked Disney's website, but the exact policy was unclear.

So I haven’t been paying much attention since we weren’t planning to come, but as we start to play with the idea, is there any way to see which parks are available before purchasing tickets? Or is it safe to assume that on-site guests will have good park availability if booked more than a month out? What about holidays like Christmas?

Sorry if this has been asked before. We are staying in a DVC on rented points in January. When I made my park reservations I didn't consider the fact that both of my MK days are on a weekend so I was thinking of switching the first one with one of my Epcot days. How would I go about changing them and is it even possible? Tried for days to do a chat on Disney.com but it is always busy.
Edit: I was finally able to talk to someone on chat and they helped me change my days.

If you cancel a hotel reservation does that cancel your park reservations? I want to possibly change hotels but don't want to lose park reservations.

HI, you said you found your answer. But I am wondering the same thing. Where did you find the answer? I am currently booked at the Swan and want to cancel and book elsewhere. I just don't want to lose my park reservations. Since all days at DHS are booked during my trip. I can't lose that one!!!

I canceled a hotel reservation and the park reservations stayed.
