General questions about renting a townhome ??

We're close to making a reservation at Paradise Palms. Just a couple of general questions. Do credit cards offer any additional protection? There's an additional 3% fee for paying with a credit card. Just wondering the best way to pay. Also damage insurance ($50) versus a refundable damage deposit of $500 ??? Thank you for any advice or recommendations

For what it is worth, the owner I rented from did not charge an extra fee for paying with a credit card, but yes, you can always dispute the charges if you believe you were victim of a fraud. But do keep records of everything.

Also, the owner just kept credit card information on file as a security deposit and there was no hold on the card.

Actually, all payments were handled by their management company.
