General public discounts soon?

Does anyone know if the general public discount codes will be released soon? Someone told me they usually release these codes in August. I have used them before and saved some money but I cannot remember when they usually release these codes. Hoping to save some money again this year for my December trip.

There has already been a discount released for most dates through Dec 13, for free dinning. I doubt there will be any codes for after the 13th as that is Holiday season.

I will be there 12/3-12/8. They usually release general public package discount codes around this time of year if I remember correctly.

The general public package sale (free dining) has already been released for December, and those dates are not included.
To get the discount, you'd have to check in by 11/29, or not until 12/10. Bummer!

They should start releasing the discounts for FL residents in August.

It's hard to predict because this year's RO discounts aren't really following last year's pattern. But it seems likely we will see RO discounts in Aug for the rest of the year. Now whether those will be GP first (like fall) or AP first (like last year) is anyone's guess. There haven't really been any rumors yet though, so probably at least a couple weeks.

Looks like it's not a discount. The AKL rate is the standard view weekday rate.

It's not uncommon for Disney to run public promotions that look like discounts but aren't.

Thanks - I have been pretty lucky to be able to use it the past 3-4 years so I'm hoping. I will be in the cabins the end of October but only for 4 nights this year instead of my usual week. With a AAA discount it did save $215. If thats all I get its fine but I'll stay hopeful.

I'll bet they release general public room only discounts after the offer to book free dining ends. So I checked, those offers must be booked by July 28.

I'm not sure that there's usually any correlation between the two since they mostly target different audiences.

I would love for it to be next week, but given the complete absence of rumored dates, I'm betting it will be later. Usually before a discount, phone CMs start dropping dates. Now sometimes we get rumors of dates that are totally false. But I don't remember ever seeing an actual release that wasn't preceded by some rumors. I think we're in for a wait.

There is a free dining pin code that has to be booked by July 28. I believe the general public off goes until Sept 29 as some of you mentioned.

I believe the poster is referring to when the pin code expires (july 28. There has been some correlation with pin end dates in the past. But with the way things have been going this year, we'll just have to see.

The offer I got was a pin code offer and it was for free dining in September and October with some dates in November. The week of Presidents day was blacked out. The offer stated reservations must be made by July 28. After that, the offer is no good.

So if they were to offer discounted rooms in place of free dining, it would only be after all free dining offers were expired or if they decide bookings are too low.

I guess we will see over the next week or two.
