Hi everyone!

DH and I are doing a no-kids DLR trip in October (Fri 10/24-Sun 10/26). I am wondering how the crowds are in general on a non-summer Friday night (10pm-12am) and Saturday night (8pm-12am).

We went with the kids in January, it was pretty dead, but we never stayed late.

I am trying to figure out what stuff we could knock out of our early DL day... I know we could hit filler type stuff at night, but what about Splash, BTMRR, HM, Pirates, Jungle Cruise at that time of night? We likely will not have saved FPs.

Any insight is greatly appreciated! Thanks!! :)

Kim, any weekend is busy year round, but October especially so, because of the Mickey Halloween parties going on over in DCA in October. It's getting so October is as busy as spring break the last few years. You'll want to follow Hydroguy's tips, especially about getting the most out of FastPass during high season, and the one about summer season, too, here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1520483

I would definitely get familiar with how to collect FPs to use later, as is shown in these threads. It's the best way to skip the long lines and have a great time! :thumbsup2

A little planning goes a long way, and really helps you relax and enjoy it when you get there. Have fun planning and good luck! :)

Being one week before Halloween, Haunted Mansion Holiday will be busier than usual. I was there last year on Friday, October 26, and IIRC the wait at 11:30pm was around 20 minutes. The queue looks different at night and in the day, so I would recommend visiting HMH at least once in the day and once at night.

I think HMH will have FP, so it might be easier to see HMH on Saturday night.

Of the other four attractions that you mentioned, I think your best bet would be PotC, since it's a high capacity ride. But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong. :goodvibes

Kim....thank you for asking this question. We picked the same weekend as you to ‘kidnap our DBrides’ and enjoy some DL time – sans Kids. I figured the week before would Oh-so busy as Columbus holiday week ends...and...the week following should be very busy for Halloween. All things considered...this week should be steady to busy...but not crazy busy – I hope. Those with ‘seasoned experience’...please comment.

I have to agree with an earlier post...using Fast Passes is a great way to limit wait time...or...allow the ability to ride stand-by – then using your FP for a second go-around.

Wishing you a great couples get-away.

I will definitely use FP during the days... my problem is we are arriving that Friday night, and not getting to park until about 9. I'm not sure what FP might still be available?

And Saturday we are spending most of the morning at DCA... I guess we will have to run over to DL and get some FP before we break for lunch (I was trying to avoid that). We'll return to DL after our Napa Rose dinner, likely back in the park around 7 or 8. I guess we'll see what FP we can grab at that point, but I would guess not much would be left.

Sunday we're at DL, and I know we can make good use of FP that day, but we leave for the airport around 3, so we're a little limited! I want to knock off some of the biggies on the prior 2 nights to make it easier... hmmm....

Thanks!
Kim :)

PS - Everyone else enjoy their trips too!

It won't be as bad as Columbus Day weekend, but it will be crowded. Those who love the Halloween layover but don't want the crowds will come to the Park that weekend - whereby defeating the point of avoiding the crowds. (Sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy.)
