I haven't had much time to keep up with the boards. What's the general consensus on the Memory Maker- yeah or nay?

We bought it last year for our honeymoon trip. It was worth the price for us then - a special occasion and a longer trip. We took advantage of all ride photos and character meets we could, plus photos at MNSSHP.

It's not something I would pay for every trip, but I'll probably consider it again if we go with a larger group, have children etc.

I say yes. We didn't get it on our shorter trip in the summer and I regretted it. In the fall I got hundreds of photos (even before edits). In the Frozen meet and greet, the photographer got the still shots while I got the video of Elsa teaching the kids how to make snow! And we're big suckers for ride photos and magic shots.

I love Memory Maker. It also included stock photos of the Flower and Garden Show that really helped my photobook. We are doing it again this year. I was a little shy last time but my daughter and her family took full advantage of the photographers. I vow this time I am too!

Oh, and Memory Maker now includes small video snippets of you riding the ride for Mine Train and Tower of Terror. This is only available if you have a magic band, but the Mine Train video in particular was nice.

We just got back from Disney World and the memory maker was one of our best expenses.
Our daughter did a BBB makeover and then went over to the shop with the backdrop and props to have her pictures taken. Not only did the memory maker include the pictures taken during the makeover, it uncluded 18 professionally done poses by the photographers after the fact.

we also learned that you can ask the photographers for "magic" pictures, we have pictures on mainstreet with the castle behind us and tinkerbell added in at the highest point, pictures where the kids were posed in such a way that it perfectly compliments Olaf who was added in, a picture with our son catching Jiminy cricket floating down from the sky with an umbrella, our daughter holding a bouquet of mickey balloons and many more..

Also, as mentioned by a poster above, memory maker included a video of the mine train ride with our picture mixed in... We didn't love the mine train but the video is great!

Our vote- completely worth the money! Grandparents and family were able to log in and view the pictures as they were updated and commented that they felt like they were part of the trip and we didn't have to constantly take out our own camera.

Would Memory Maker be worth while for a couple only spending one day at the Magic Kingdom? Or is it better just to order the individual photos later? Thanks!

I would not get it for only 1 day unless you plan on taking alot of photopass pictures. With only 1 day, I know I would only take a couple of pictures and then hit the rides.

I've done Memory Maker twice so far - solo traveler - it was worth it both times but then I made a list of what pictures I wanted and made sure to take them.

I'm thinking I won't be doing it for my next trip - I haven't changed much and if there are any magic shots I don't have, I could just buy them seperately if I get them taken and save money that way.

It is a pain to download the pictures - very slow and they don't download in order which I find extremely annoying.
That was about the only thing I didn't like about Memory Maker.

Worth it if you have kids and/or plan to do a lot of characters. There are not that many hanging around just to take pictures in the parks - sure, there are some at the four parks' "symbols", but otherwise, you might miss them. And I do like the ride photos & videos, but only a couple of attractions have them. Bottom line: I wouldn't take it if I didn't plan to see a lot of characters, but otherwise it's well worth the price.

I agree with the the other poster about it probably not being worth it for a day. We just did a day trip and would have loved to do it after a great experience during a week long trip, but the cost just wasn't justifiable. Just a piece of advice, if you ask the Photopass Photographers with and without the characters will take photos with your personal camera/phone. They may not be as nice and you miss out on magic shots, but it's a good alternative for a day trip.

We are definitely getting it for our Sept trip. Our oldest son is finally tall enough for rides! Just wish I had seen his pic from his first mine train ride! (I'm pregnant and couldn't ride so he went with all the other adults with us and he says its just awesome- he's five. :-) ) I can't wait to have all those ride photos!

Thanks all! I think we will leave the Memory Maker for another trip either a longer trip or one when we bring the kids. :) This board is so helpful :yay:

I think memory maker was worth it and we enjoyed having all the pictures. We did make an effort to take our picture whenever we saw a photographer so that we could get our money's worth. We also very much enjoyed the on ride videos.

Thanks, everyone, for all your input. Still deciding.

Frankly, still trying to decide if we're doing just Disney this trip or going to do Universal too!

Decisions, decisions... :)

While I love Memory Maker, I agree with others that it's far too expensive for only one day in the parks. However, I thought they were testing a one-day version back in the fall. I have no idea if it was extended, but here's the info I originally saw about the test:

Don't mean to high jack OP's post but I have a few questions.

We're going to WDW 2/20-2/27...we'll be at the parks 21st, 23rd & 25th. Do we pay for MM just once for the entire trip or do we have to pay for each day? I can't seem to find this answer anywhere :confused3

Also would it be worth it for us to purchase MM if we're not planning on doing a lot of character meets? It is our first trip to WDW and it's our son's 4th birthday.

Our plans:
2/21
AK 10am-2pm
HWS 3pm-7pm

2/23
MK 10am-9pm at 1:00pm he's scheduled for Pirate League.

2/25
AK 10am-5pm

Is there any MM photo opportunities at DtD?

We love it. We buy it in advanced to save a little bit. We were lucky we purchased it way early Bc we got it for $149 and I saw right before our trip they went up. It's great not carrying a camera bag all day. It's just DH and I.

I love it! Most of the pictures we have of the whole family are from Disney. I also like the extra photos we got from our dinner at CRT and from the Pirates' League.

I've heard from someone who went recently that they got a one-day Memory Maker for $42 at Magic Kingdom. Apparently it is in the testing phase, so it's not being publicized yet, but it might be worth asking for it when you get there!

We always get Memory Maker however it is always frustrating! Pictures are always missing and having them tracked down is a major pain. The website is wonky and editing pictures takes way longer then it should. We just got back from a quick 4 day trip to celebrate my grandson's birthday. We are missing many ride photos and since we can't remember exactly when we rode they probably won't be found. I think it is ridiculous to pay that much money for something and then expect me to keep track of the times we rode and what we wore so that the pictures I already paid for can be found!
