Hey there! I am wondering how to make the glass vases with the colored gel in them. I think I want to do this for my at home reception. Usually, I see these at the desert parties, but I have seen a couple of brides use them indoors as well.

Does anyone know how to make them? Where do you get the gel? Can you add stuff to the gel like glitter or confetti?

Any help is much appreciated!! Thanks.

Sorry Tanya to squeeze in and add another question. I really like them too!

I didn't know if anyone knew if how expensive they are coming from the disney florist?

I wish I knew how to make them!

Not sure how to make them, but my quote from Rosie was $17 a piece. Hope that helps.

Thats a good deal! Tanya I saw some tumblers in the brookstone catalog and thought of you. They were the same bright colors (without the gel) and if you put light up ice cubes I think they would look the same way.

Have you been to a craft store?

The only thing I could think of is Jello. But I don't think its quite the same.

Basically you buy the containers. You can get any container you want as long as they are clear.

The craft stores sell floral gel. Here a link to some online. There are different brands of this available also.

If you want a different color just add food coloring. You can buy confetti at any party or craft store and you basically just mix it in the container with the gel.

For the lights there are these things called floralytes. I know Disney uses the ice cubes too but for my DP centerpieces they used floralytes. I didn't have cylinders though. The website below also has the ice cubes. Make sure the lights you use are submersible!

They are very easy to make. :thumbsup2

I had a try at making one because I want to incorporate some of the same of what we are having at the wedding at our home reception.

I bought some floral gel crystals on ebay (they come in loads of colours) I got a vase from Asda (thats wallmart to you) for £1 and I pinched a daisy from a bunch I had in the house - here was the result ....

I am going to put in 3 daisies at different heights and a floral light if I can find a mickey punch when in Orlando I will add some mickey confetti too.

:rotfl2::rotfl2:Jello! I'm really laughing with you and not at you! It might make for tasty centerpieces if I wasn't going to stick plants in them.

Thanks for these sites! I didn't know where to look for the gel. Our local Wal-Mart and craft store doesn't sell it. I read somewhere that the confetti will sink to the bottom. Do you know if this is the case?

These are awesome! I love the punch of color. I was also thinking of using daisies.

If it was just water and no gel the confetti would sink but the gel will hold it up in place. :thumbsup2

You can also buy a bag of the Mickey confetti from Disney Floral. I bought several bags for our at-home reception and it was great since it was the thicker material compared to if I tried to punch myself on paper :thumbsup2

Thanks for this info. I have been looking on line wondering where I could get this stuff!
