GEICO question

We have GEICO for car insurance. I read somewhere online that you have to call GEICO to get your car insurance premium lowered. How do I even know if I'm entitled to a lower premium? I guess I don't really understand. Do people call every 6 months and see if they would qualify to pay less or something:confused3 Thanks!

I am an agent for a different insurance company. Many people call every 6 months to check their rates. Sometimes insurance companies add new discounts that you may be eligible for. It's not a bad idea to call for a review to make sure you are getting the lowest rate possible with them. You can also check a few competitors to make sure they are still in range with other companies. Good luck.

I'd be interested too. We've been w/Geico now for about 14ish years. Would love to see a bit of a reduction. I thought (after seeing commercials) that I'd try to get a quote from Progressive.... what a laugh. The exact coverage (without mechanical breakdown on 3 yo car) would have been over $1000 more. Some savings. And that wasn't factoring in our adding DS as a "new driver" once he gets license (we're holding off on that).
Please post if he find anything out.

I've had Geiko for several years and my rate went down several times without any action on my part. I did a defensive driving class through work and did call Geiko to tell them about it and got an additional discount, I think it was 10%.
