Wow Helene, sounds like a hectic time. Sorry to hear about your doggie. That's so sad. I'm sure your kids must be quite upset too.Talk about having a lot on your plate.
they saw it happen
she was old at least 15 maybe older we really aren't sure we got her 4 years ago and she was at least 11 then. She was acting odd that day. she couldn't lay down and get comfortable, wouldn't eat, was just not right... we were going to take her to the vet friday but she laid down in the middle of the living room, and then I saw her.. she tried to get up couldn't I screamed at Patrick who was on the computer, he was like yeah.. she was still alive but not really, the kids came down to see what was going on.. we all just sat with her and petted her while she went.. it was rough. Now my kids are very well versed with death.. we've had alot of that in my family over the last few years but they never saw a dead person
(I wouldn't let them go to funerals I had a bad experience as a child) so they didn't "get" the whole why is she still here if she is dead part..
Patrick took her over to my brothers about an hour after it happened our yard just wasn't big enough to do it here. it was just a very rough night. Now I've been looking for another dog.. honestly I can't live with out one here.. its such a habit of letting her out and stuff I still want to call her, and then when food is on the floor geesh I never realized how much goodies my dog ate! I want another dog.. I need another dog ASAP!
to you and your family Helene. That's so sad. I'm sure your doggie knew she was very lucky to have your family for these last years of her life. It must have been heartbreaking for you all, but at least she didn't go alone. Hope you find another doggie real soon and have many wonderful years with her.

and
have well checks today, so I'll be at the dr's office with the 4 who are home. Should be fun.
I'll definitely be missing the oldest today cause she would help hold the baby.

thru a temper tantrum from hell..
