When we rented our house out last Dec/Jan in Windsor Palms, at night we would leave an outside light on. We had seen these fast little creatures, that I am assuming are geckos, at WL and it was like finding hidden mickey's. We would get all excited when we found one! :p That is until our rental house. We came home quite late one night and there were several on the outside walls by the front door where the light was left on. I, stupid stupid me, reached up to pet one.....I still have no idea what I was thinking! The darn thing jumped right on me, just like in that movie Matilda when it jumped from the glass to Miss Crunchball (SP?)! I screamed so loud that I think I gave that little creature a heart attack, it flew off and several lights outside went on! :p Needless to say I stopped my gecko search and we each keep a wide berth from each other! DH & gang have still not let that one go!

Where we live there aren't any lizard-like creatures at all. One of the best parts of going to Florida is seeing them all over the place. :D

I responded to Belle's thread about the frog, and then saw this one! We have also rescued a gecko from the evil clutches of a bar owner who had them as a promotional thing and then decided they didn't want them so they just let them starve to death. We rescued two but one was too far gone. The other one has been nursed back to health, and he's doing great!

His name is Art...get it? Art Gecko?:teeth: :p

Yes, I am a sucker for animals...furry, slimy, it doesn't matter!

We have toads(as posted on Belle's thread) gecko-like lizards, and skinks. We have had 3 or 4 of the skinks (a smooth striped lizard thing with an irridescent blue tail-georgeous-about 4 inches long) in our house, once in the bathtub!?? How they got in is anyone's guess. They don't bother me outside, except when they startle me. DH has taught the boys how to catch the slow ones, being very careful with their removable tails! Of course, it is catch-and-release.

Once, upstairs, I came across an eight inch black snake in the hallway...??? It startled me, of course, but didn't scare me. I told the boys to watch it, but don't get near it. I went to get a broom and a bucket to catch it, and when I got back upstairs, the snake was gone, the boys weren't watching it...I don't know where it went...

It's like freakin' Wild Kingdom in this house!!

OK Duke I went to this webpage and just the first picture sent me shivers and running for cover! We may never know what it was that jumped on me and scared me half to death that night, lol!
