I love this thread. Now, when my wife asks "Don't you have enough camera stuff yet?", I can just show her these gear lists and not feel too bad about the length of my wish list.

I love this thread. Now, when my wife asks "Don't you have enough camera stuff yet?", I can just show her these gear lists and not feel too bad about the length of my wish list.

No kidding. Are a lot of you guys pros? I mean, I understand that many of you are older than me so you have greater resources, but I'm still shocked at the amount of gear so many here have. Of course maybe things are a bit skewed--after Mark posted the inventory of a B&H shipment center his gear list, maybe those with more modest bags have refrained from posting and mostly others with lots of gear have posted? :confused3

In any case, color me jealous. Maybe someday I'll expand my arsenal to the degree of some here!

I think you can figure out the pros vs the enthusiasts just by looking at the 'lighting' category. You can have a lot of camera bodies and lots of lenses, and still be in the enthusiast group, but rarely would someone who is NOT a pro buy light stands and diffusers and studio lights and reflectors and such. Some might of course, but that often points to someone who shoots at least something professionally/studio. Some of us who are enthusiasts might make a little income from photography, but not enough to earn a living or call it a profession.

And of course, means will have something to do with it - those with can indulge more, those without, not so much. But one could build a large collection just hitting up older bodies, used lenses, and second-hand accessories, and still not require Gatesian net worth.

Ok, I lied.... I have a bubble level and I still have that lame Nikon D60 body, plus the Sherpas only work part time and are thinking of unionizing. :scared1:
