Just thought I would share this . . . We have a GE microwave Model (mid-size counter model) JES1139WL03. A few months ago I noticed the paint on the inside bottom of the microwave bubbled and flaked off. I knew this was not good, but did not think it was a big deal.

I finally called GE today--I was told to immediately stop using the microwave and replace. :scared1: Ughh! What did we ingest? It is about 2 years old and no longer under warranty. They did offer me a $25 goodwill certificate towards another GE microwave.

The reviews on Best Buy and Amazon are terrible for the GE microwaves and not very flattering for any microwave for that matter. More than a few reviews said it died after 3-4 months and others could not get the door open. I really liked the microwave. I am tempted to go with a GE again, but I am hesitant. Any recent experiences with GE microwaves? :confused3

I've had GE microwaves since microwaves came out (1983 maybe) and they have all outlived us. We have either moved or upgraded. None have died on us after years of use. The one my husband and I have now is a great GE over-the-stove one that is 6 years old. Runs great. We will always go with GE ones.

Save the glass plate and store it away. Never know when you might break that plate in a new microwave, and you can't just go out and get another one, nor can you really use the microwave without the spinning glass bottom. Found this out the hard way.
