GCH theme park/pool view question

We are booked to stay at the GCH through DVC points in 2 weeks time. We have a theme park/pool view booked but I am concerned about the view because of the DVC construction. Can you request a certain view i.e Grizzly Peak (I know it is just a request and might not be honoured) and who would I phone to request this vacation planning (although we booked through DVC not vacation planning) or the hotel itself. I know the rooms are not assigned until a few days before arrival so if I phoned the hotel directly would our information be in their system yet?

Or does the construction not affect the theme park view much?

We always had the Grizzly Peak view during our 3 stays at GCH. I had the request for an east-facing Grizzly Peak view put on our reservation and then specifically requested it during check-in.

We just got back and had a room that faced the pools. Yes, we could see the construction, but I guess it wasn't a big deal to me. I'm just excited that the villas will be there for future trips.

Request a Grizzly Peak view and cross fingers!
