Seeings as the vets are out on this one....just how good are the DLH pools rumoured to be (and when will they open?) Have to say I lean towards the GCH for all sorts of reasons, but for cost reasons this summer I did think about the DLH...until I saw the construction photos. It's a long way to come for us for earthworks.
^^Depends on when you are going. I'm pretty sure they will have everything done for summer. I plan to stay there sometime this summer. Whenever I can get my daughters to turn loose of their daughters for me to take.
I take my granddaughters together because they are attached at the hip. I take my 11 year old grandson separately because he likes to do different rides. A couple more years and I will take the twins (who are only 3 now) for their own "special Nana time".
I am excited that DLH is getting new pools/slides. I especially am fond of the new restaurant. I thought they needed more restaurants in the hotels area. I wonder how much more land they have back where the old quiet pools were? Could they keep adding more stuff?
Thank you for the responses and the pictures! It looks amazing, we can't wait for June! I only now thought... I hope it's WARM enough to swim everyday!
I do hope the DLH's pool is finished b/c my girls are the perfect ages for water slides and splash parks.
I can't wait to try out the lounge chairs and definately want to sun and get a nap since I've read so much about it.
One additional difference between the hotels is that there is more room to move around at the Grand and because of that, it doesn't seem as crowded to me. We have stayed at DLH many times and always have a hard time finding a lounger that is close to the pool. At the Grand there are so many different pool areas that it doesn't seem as dificult, but that has just been our experience.

We have never been able to get a lounger(except early AM) at the GCH when we go. I could post someone in the pool area but what a waste of time that would be. Since we have a pool at home it really is no problem but just once would like to have a pool day.
