GCA $259, DL Hotel $169, Paradise Pier $159, 8/24-12/18 2008

I got the card several days ago. I cannot use it because we were just there (I have Disney Visa, not AP, live in Arizona, have been to DL once a year past two years, stayed onsite last year, offsite this year and haven't been to WDW for 4 years, plus I do sign up for every Disney thing on the net).

I've been on these boards and Mousesavers for 7 years. I can tell you that it is not a pretty sight to share pin codes. They really do match you to the code. Even if you somehow get the reservation (i.e. you lie), when you show up and your credit card info doesn't match the address info on the postcard/email, you are charged the full rack rate for your stay. I have read about it happening many times through the years. And, remember the full rack rate is the highest rate possible.

If you didn't get the pin code, perhaps try calling and seeing if you are on the list to get one and just didn't get it yet or if there are any comparable rates that you qualify for.

For the poster that asked about drive to DL, we have done it in as little as 5 hours (we only took one quick potty break), but the average is about 5 3/4 hours.

Well I think I may try and call to see if by chance I may have been sent the email and DH accidentally deleted it. Otherwise I think I will sit tight and wait for the AP rates. I am doubting these will happen now with this promotion coming out.

Okay Angela- you are going to DL for 6 nights then to WDW for 12!!! Are you coming up for air in between? I am so jealous! I miss the Poly... it is my fav and I always try to consider others at WDW, but can't go through with it. What is ASM???

ASM is All Star Music resort. We are doing a split stay at WDW. We were able to get a Family Suite at ASMu, so we will have 2 rooms and a bit of breathing space. 3 weeks in a hotel room would be insane!

Cheers
Angela

For those that were able to book, how many digits in your confirmation number? Mine has 12 and when I try to retrieve it online it doesn't work. The Disney site says it should be 8 digits.

I am just nervous and want to see it in writing. The CM said it would take several days for the email confirmation to come through.

Uh, I didn't get a confirmation number. I guess I should call back and get one of those. :headache:

I just got this in the mail! I'm so glad I didn't book our room beforehand. I was waiting for a good special to come out. I'm thinking we may try the DLH this year for a change. I'm so excited! I have to book tomorrow. Does anyone think these rates will sell out?

I was okay about all of this and happy for those who got the discount until my cousin emailed that she also got an email. sheesh... and she wont be able to even use it.. and i have nothing in the mail or email and go like 3 to 4 times a year and we are dvc members.. Granted we can use points but we prefer to use points at DVC resorts. Rats... I've also taken survey's and even test piloted the nagivation system they were looking at. ooh well....

The online reservation system is for booking online through WDTC - totally separate from booking through the hotel direct so you will not be able to check your hotel reservation on the site..... You can ask them to e-mail you a confirmation though!

Boy I feel like there a just a few of us left who haven't gotten anything. I'm AP, Disney Visa, sat throught the DVC spiel and am working with guide on planning to buy this Fall. Dohe the surveys in the park and online. Let's see . . I've never booked a trip through WDTC though . . . just direct through the hotels.

Sigh.

I'm totally calling tomorrow to see if maybe I have a PIN. Maybe DH threw out the post card b/c he didn't think the timing would be relevant and didn't want to tempt me.

Little does he now about the surprise I have in store for him in Septmenber! ;)

I got an e-mail today! Like a few people, it was sent to my mom's name, but my e-mail. She's coming on the trip, so either way it shouldn't be a problem.

I have a Disney Visa, no AP, have never stayed on site, ordered a planning DVD a year ago and am signed up at the website (never took a survey, though).

I'm calling first thing in the a.m. to book a DLH room for the last 2 days of our 5 day trip. That way I'll get to try the Hojo first (premium room, SD50 rate), then try DLH!

Sending pixie dust to those of you who haven't gotten one yet!

I have a feeling your planning video is the key to why you got the discount, because those videos are sent out and made by the WDTC, and I KNOW my discount email came directly from the WDTC mailing list because they addressed it to my friend whose name was on my reservation which I made through the WDTC last year. Otherwise, if they had pulled me from some other mailing list, they would have used MY name. I certainly have put my name out there in the Disney circles enough. So it was this ONE specific reservation I made through WDTC in which they for some reason listed my guest's name as being the person at my address that got me the discount. So, since they also send out the planning videos and other things, I think that is the answer.

Even if you sign up for something that does not clearly say WDTC on it, often times it is from there anyway.

Sigh. The last time I ordered a planning DvD was 3 years ago and it was at our old house. So maybe a postcard was sent there.

I just figured they would only send you one DvD every once in awhile so I never ordered another one. Plus it's not like I really need help from Disney planning anymore when I've got this place. :rotfl:

Anywhoo, I'm waiting for DH to leave for work so I can make the call - wouldn't want to spoil the surprise just yet.

Disney has got to get this straightened out! My mom got the email with my name on it! We are staying in October and the senior rate we are getting at GCH is better than the pin deal, but if they plan to do this in the future they better get their database fixed!

I foresee a lot of frustrated CMs dealing with postcards and pins and names and everything else....:headache:

I got the email yesterday and the only thing I have is an AP. This is actually a new email address for me also so the only way they could have gotten it that has been discussed on this thread is through my AP login to the website. Everywhere else, the hotels, DVC, surveys, would all have my old email address attached to it and not this one. I think it seems pretty random and like they are going to eventually get to everyone.

I just called and they don't have any standard rooms left for the days I wanted (Oct 24, 25). I have a pool view on hold at the rate of $219 at DLH. I'll have to think about that one... She said the special rates were selling out quickly.

Right. And the website you logged into was the Disneyland or WDW website, right? Both of which are directly hotwired through the WDTC. So, again, I think it is WDTC who has the master list and they are sending out these offers based on activity within the last six months to one year. It doesn't seem they are basing anything on what we did earlier than 2007.

The only link my mom has to all this is that we both had a reservation on the Magic Panama Canal Cruise, so it's got to be that somehow...we had to cancel, tho:sad1:

Looks like this is going to be the ONLY discount for the Fall (That was the impression given to me by the CM I spoke to this morning). She said they are trying a new tactic :( I guess there will be no DLH for us this trip :(

I got the same story when I called this AM. She didn't think AP7 was going to happen. Should someone start another thread for all the peeps waiting for AP7? Or wait until this is confirmed officially? I do get WAY different stories from the different CMs I get...

Off topic...do they mark down how many times you call? I have called about 7 times for this trip alone? Hope they don't put a red x next to my name!!! I try to be really nice, tho...

The prices depend on the date of travel. For example, my rate was $179 per night for the Disneyland Hotel Nov. 2-8. Once I get there, I will have to pay a $12 per night resort fee plus tax. I think I'll still be saving a bundle.

Well that really is not cool. Where are the rewards for being an AP holder? :confused3
