GC & DL Dining Questions

We're planning our first trip to DL for next June. I've looked through all the past threads (which have been very helpful, by the way) but I still have 2 questions. My DH has an extreme fear of heights. He won't go up stairs or ride in elevators. So, my questions are:

Does the GC have a good number of rooms located on the first floor, or would it be easier to get a first floor room at another hotel?

Which one of the character meals are on the first floor?

Thanks for the help! :thanks:

Both of GC's table service restaurants (Storytellers and Napa Rose), as well as their quick service place, are on the ground floor. Storytellers has a character breakfast (menu or buffet).

DL Hotel has Goofy's on the first floor in the main building. Goofy's is a character meal for B, L, and D. The other DL restaurants require stairs, elevator, or escalator.

PP also has a character meal that I think is on the first floor, and maybe the japanese restaurant is on the first floor. But it's been a few years so I'm not 100% on that being the first floor (both of those restaurants are on the same floor).

I believe all the guest rooms at the GCH are on the 2nd-6th floors. I don't think there are any on the 1st floor.

But it's outside, and the steps are very wide. I believe there is also a ramp, for wheelchairs and such.

Ariel's Grotto, on the other hand, is at the bottom of a windy, semi-dark staircase. There is an elevator, but that sounds like it's not an option for you.

I dont think the GC or PP have rooms on the first floor. Not sure about DLH. You'll probably have to call and ask.

Thanks so much, you've all been very helpful. :worship: Looks like maybe we should stay at a good neighbor hotel instead for a first floor room. And, now I know which character meals to book. Thanks again! :wave2:

There are 2 restraunts on the first floor at PP. And there are a few restraunts on the first floor of GC. The BEST place for a character meal b, l, or d is hands down Goofy's kitchen on the first floor of the Disney Hotel. Also there is a fantastic restraunt next to goofy's kitchen called Granvilles Steakhouse it is equally fantastic! It is also first floor of disney hotel. We eat at those 2 every time we go, also there is no first floor rooms in any of the 3 resort hotels.

Be sure to check that the good neighbor hotel has 1st floor rooms. There are a few walking distance ones on Harbor which don't.

There is one motel directly across the street from Paradise Pier Hotel I forget the street name, but if you were standing at the front of the hotel and looked left it would be across that street. It's called alamo inn and suites, rooms are very clean and they have ground floor rooms.
