GC check in question

We are planning to arrive very early to begin our DL trip.
Check in isn't til 3 usually.
How can I partake in EMH if I have not yet checked in ? Can I still get into the park early ? Do I need to go to GC first ?

Also we purchased SoCal city pass.....do we need to get other passes or will this just work like a normal card ?


We are seasoned Wdw trippers.... Haven't been to DL in almost 30 years.

Once you get your room key, regardless if your room is ready or not, you will be good to go for EMH. You need to check in early. They will text you when your room is ready. Plus you can drop your bags too.

I don't know anything about how City Pass works.

You will LOVE Disneyland. It's so magical.

Yes...you can check in as early as 6am. You can park and they will hold your bags at the bell desk and give you your room keys which will have charging privileges activated. You can then have access to EMH and the pool even before you are in you room. Once your room is ready, they will text you your room number.

Not sure about your tickets but the front desk of the hotel also acts as full ticket booths for resort guests so they can answer your question on the tickets and do any exchanges for admission tickets from vouchers if needed when you check in.

We are staying with family when we first arrive. I hope they understand we are leaving ASAP Friday morning to get to the park and beat traffic. They live 20 min away.

Keep in mind nothing is 20minutes away in Southern California in the morning! If you've never experienced it- SoCal traffic is worse than you can imagine! So give yourself PLENTY of time so you arrive in a good mood. Yesterday the traffic from Lake Forest to GCH was horrendous! Took us over 90 minutes to go 20 miles.

Also remember valet parking at GCH is $25/night (my Aunt is from Las Vegas and thought it was the same price as self parking $17/night)

GCH will hold all of your bags at the bell desk, assign you a room, and give you your room keys and text you later in the day when your room is ready. That way you show your room keys for EMH. You will also be able to charge items you purchase in the park to your room and have them sent to the hotel instead of carrying them all day.
